Without going into details since op deleted his post, I think you're correct about the source of the info.
I'm not sure if you remember op, but he had info about Tristan Leigh's interest in Oklahoma last year, so I think he might have ties there as well.

I feel pretty confident it wasn’t communicated to Riley in the way OP paraphrased. I’m sure it was more professional/delicate than “you either want it or your don’t and we need to know by X date”
Probably more along the lines of “we absolutely want you and are prepared to make you the highest paid coach in CFB, but we also understand you’ve got a potential playoff team. As I’m sure you understand, we have to make the right move for our program, and we need to move forward - hopefully with you - by ESD. So please let us know by X date so that we can plan accordingly and explore other candidates if necessary”

No way!
Kiffin is the #1 period. If not, we got major problems.
No way SW forces another coach to do that especially as wide open as the playoffs are this year. OK has a good chance to compete for the ship.
