I know some claim he'll stay out on the west coast guy, but he was an east coast guy before he went to Oregon. I personally think that aTm has a decent shot at him if they end up firing Sumlin considering he liked to recruit Texas when he was at Oregon. If UCLA ends up firing Mora, that is another big possibility. I don't see him going to UF with Spurrier lurking down the hallway.

I'm assuming Kelly is the big fish for this coaching search cycle. It'll be interesting to see where he falls.

Whomever Florida hires will tell them this has to change as a condition of employement.

I think he looks a personal. TAMU seems like his style of player.

Any SEC school that tries to hire Kelly requires the SEC Commissioner's approval.

Sounds like he wants to be on the west coast.

Who would want him? He doesn't like to recruit, he doesn't like to hob know with the boosters. He neglected his defense and never adjusted his scheme to compensate for it.

An honest assessment of Kelly would be an innovative OC, who kept the main benefactor happy at a school who whose main benefactor represents the premier brand in Athletics. WHo also failed on the biggest stage. Without Oregon/Nike I doubt Kelly is hungry enough to do what it takes to produce a winner, especially in the SEC. I could be wrong, but what has he done to show different?

I have a feeling Frost is going to be at Nebraska when this cycle ends.

IMO he wants a job where he can recruit locally, and not be away from his family. That is NOT Nebraska.

quote:

“I've been recruiting all week,” Frost said last year upon taking his name out of the running at Oregon. “[One day,] I drove to a [nearby] town in Florida, recruited and was back in Orlando that night. [The next day,] I drove to another town in Florida and was back at home that night. That's a lot different than flying all over the country and sleeping in a different state every night.”

Yeah, but it'll be hard to resist "mama calling".

Yw! But I still think UF should hire "The Quarterback Whisperer" AKA Dan Mullen. Think about this, Merlins made Dak Prescott into the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys as a rookie. A guy Les Miles recruited as a tight end.

And he had State at #1 for four weeks. In Starkville, MS.

He should be the main guy, and Frost should be the backup.

You need to read up on his time at Nebraska. He's saying nice things now, but he has some not-so-nice memories. Remember, he went to Stanford 1st, then transferred to NU.

He was given a tough welcome at first, and he was booed off the field a couple of times.

He may still take the job, I dunno. I'm just saying his memories of Nebraska aren't all as rosy as you might think.

Was he the QB that Lawrence Phillips beat to a bloody pulp, and then dragged the girl they were both screwing down a flight of stairs?

quote:

Hours after the team returned from East Lansing on September 10, 1995, Phillips broke into backup quarterback Scott Frost's apartment by climbing the outside of the building to the third floor and entering through some sliding doors. He then assaulted basketball player Kate McEwen. Phillips dragged McEwen out of the apartment by the hair and down three flights of stairs before smashing her head into a mailbox. Phillips was subsequently arrested and eventually suspended by head coach Tom Osborne.

For Head Coach positions only, or does this apply to coordinators as well?
