So What Exactly Caused the Disruption with our Two QB Recruits?

Our two QB recruits have stayed committed since Coach Miles was fired until the past 10 days. There are a lot of variables involved here. Does anyone know the main reasons that caused both QB's to open back up their recruitment?

If both remained committed knowing we were going to be hiring a new OC what caused them to back off just before we make the new hire?

Someone needs to get some crayons and explain this once and for all.

WE HAVE NO OC!!

Until we do, you can't blame these recruits for keeping their options open.

Yes, but I'm not sharing that because O supporters won't believe it and will bash.

Brennan opened his recruitment after we offered Tua.

I think LN has been kind of looking around for a while.

Who knows, we may still land both.

I've heard it said because they talk to each other and their recruiting pitches weren't matching up.

LSU was not done recruiting QBs so QBs decided they should be recruited as well.

Not only do I not blame them, I would advise my son to do the same thing. If you like it somewhere better, than screw LSU.

I thought we were waiting until after the bowl game? Are we panicking now and rushing the hire now that Kiffin has spurned us?

Yesterday, no one knew when the hire would be made, especially those whom it affected. Rumor was O said he would wait until after the bowl game. Auburn went in-home with Narcisse on Sunday and then Narcisse, on Monday, specifically said not having an OC caused him to re-open his recruitment. And all of a sudden or not so sudden, we're hearing about LSU bringing an OC candidate into Baton Rouge. It's kind of hard to be an LSU QB or RB EE without any idea what type of system you'll be in during a transition year.

When there are changes or uncertainties concerning coaching at a school, other schools will go after their committed recruits. The uncertainty tends to make the recruits consider those other options.

Would you, or would you want your son to commit to a school who hired a coach with a losing record, and has no idea who the OC is or what system he will run?

If we had hired just about any other coach we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Dude, we hired Ed Orgeron to be our coach.

He's a terrible head coach. I wouldn't play QB for him either.

The real kicker is the only way the OC can talk to either QB during the dead period is if the prospect calls the coach, I believe. So we'll know soon enough if there's still any interest in still coming to LSU.
