I agree and I will reserve my judgement until a decision is announced. At that time, I will either nod my head in agreement or I will freak out and shite in my hands and immediately rub it in my hair. Either way a couple of things are certain, LSU football will kickoff next Labor Day weekend and the whining on this website will either be at an all-time high or on the verge of eruption.
Many of you miserable SOBs have had the dookie head for several months now and it is an upgraded look for you. Keep up the good panic!!

The propaganda wing of the Orgeron campaign that runs from 7:00-9:00 every weekday morning on the Baton Rouge 104.5 ESPN radio station sure did say that Kiffin was going to come and be Orgeron's OC. You know, the show who lost a co-host to be Coach O's assistant. I wonder where the morning show was getting their information from?

I think people were simply trying to justify the hiring of O, by picking a championship winning OC and putting the link between O and Kiffin as a reason.
I personally think O has very little plan, and LSU is screwed for the time being. It's going to be a risky hire no matter what LSU does at OC short of a homerun hire.
That was really the only way to sell O to fans, and it worked with a bunch, even if it wasn't true.
Kiffin may come, but I don't think he will, even if he doesn't get the UH job.
O offering Tua was stupid and done for cosmetic reasons that likely backfired on this team. It was O trying to prove to people that he'll challenge Bama. Instead he reaffirmed Tua to Bama and may have cost LSU a top recruit.

It's not the only answer. Perhaps someone is lined up but cannot go public until after the bowl. Perhaps it is Kiffin, but contingent upon HC job at Houston. Perhaps it is another candidate that fans have not listed and just waiting until after bowl for reasons we don't know. That's the point. We don't know. But, you will assume and make and arse out of U, not ME.

Kiffin was the name thrown around as a potential hire due to the relationship.

I haven't claimed to have any sources. I'm just reading this board, the new reports, talking heads, and every other bit of speculation.
If all of it is untrue and there is no point in discussing it, then just shut this board down and we'll read about it in the newspaper. Or, make a rule that we can only comment on things after they happen.
I'm not trying to be negative just for the sake of it. It appears that everyone has decided that the only acceptable course of action now is to praise and trust Orgeron while we wait to find out what happens for sure. Okay. Fine. I'll get with the program.

Exactly this. People connected with Orgeron (or connected with people connected with him) have been saying KIFFIN for over a week now. So, yeah, I believed that Orgeron was leaking that. It seemed reasonable.
Apparently, everything coming out of the Orgeron camp is just BS. Gotcha.

And you want to believe the best. What has O done to make you think he has done anything about getting the best OC. It is not like he has to deliver on that promise. They will not fire him for not getting the best OC.
I hope he brings in a homerun hire, the OC equal to our DC. That would be awesome. But, the way things have been going for LSU latley, I need to see it before I celebrate.
