also there are some NCAA rules which allow the head coach extra visits/contacts if there are open positions on the staff.
Bingo.
You get even more if you're without a coordinator, SE should be moved back to TE coach now

Well it looks pretty shitty if you are selling him to recruits then immediately fire him after they sign.
Yep I agree with you there, but there are A LOT of ways to part ways with a coach without firing them. First off after national signing day take away the rest of his coaching duties and put him in an admin role!

It's a tough world out there. They might as well learn that sooner than later.

Speaking from the corporate world -- when you know the "garden needs weeding", it usually never helps by delaying the inevitable. Take action!
Plus -- we don't know -- but just maybe someone else already on staff may end up with that role.

Gotta get rid of the guy on staff that has a better record as a full time head coach than the boss.

BDP is supposed to be a fantastic recruiter why not keep him until after signing day?
Because he is not a great recruiter, and neither was Miles.
Great LSU recruiters: Frank Wilson, Corey Raymond, O

That's quite the #hottaek. Everything I've heard about Miles from when he was hired until he was fired is he was one of the best closers in recruiting bar none--and I'm no Miles apologist.

O is going to have his staff set before NSD.
You let go of BDP now so you can still talk to recruits before the dead period and let them know the situation? When does the dead period start?

Even if he was a great recruiter there are plenty of great recruiters on our staff. He isn't some linch pin of our class.

The question is why not sooner?????

Sit back and watch what happens when Miles coaches again, he wont have great assistants to recruit and he will get average talent at best.
