So I am trying to figure out why fire BDP right now 2 months before recruiting signing day?
BDP is supposed to be a fantastic recruiter why not keep him until after signing day? It isn't like hiring a coach to coach special teams is a difficult position to hire a coach for.
This just doesn't make sense to me.

Most people who want it done just want to set a precedent that the glaring oversights of the Miles administration are done. It is a symbolic cleaning of the house.

because hes an over rated recruiter. also there are some NCAA rules which allow the head coach extra visits/contacts if there are open positions on the staff.

Yeah, lets fire him after national signing day. The time between then and next year is plenty of time to revamp the special teams

Also a good point. Plus it really doesn't set a good precedent to let BDP out on the recruiting trail then fire him as all of the guys he sold on the program enter school.
Last point is that a guy who knows his head is on the block is a suspect representative for LSU. See the Chavis situation. Better not to risk him spreading any poison for whatever program picks him up for some shite tier coaching position to recruit.

When O was made interim HC, he was basically asked why more coaches like BDP weren't fired with Miles. His answer was not that BDP is good, etc., but that he can't fire and replace every coach mid-season. The message was pretty clear that BDP was gone, especially if special teams did not improve big time.

So he can have the pick of the ST Coordinators coming available - he can be T-John on the spot because he has a vacancy.

BDP is an idiot clown, Miles should have been fired for bringing him back, if for no other reason. BDP may very well be a good recruiter, but he is not an X's and O's coach.
