This is still not a bad time for looking. Some coaches will have a buyout. I know one that paid $15K to get out. Some school will pay the buyout just to get a coach.

all ya need is one. we'll be fine. seems to me that crowton is the easiest person on the staff to replace. it's like all he did was call plays.

Don't forget Studrawa was an OC when he came here. Is BG/GS co-OC in the works?

Les once again dropped the ball with his decision to hold on to Crowton for so long.

Get a grip man, the season ended last Friday.

Had the OC job at LSU been open sooner, we would've had a good shot at landing Harsin from Boise State

True. My best friend has been a professor @ Boise State for 23 years. He told me two months ago that Harsin would listen if LSU called.

Les' new cred from the Michigan pursuit will give him the balls to give us Gonzo as Malleveto part 2. If he fails and we go win 8 games, what the frick does it matter to Les? He has 6 more years to fix it with no threat of being in job trouble.

I'm not a big Les fan but you are getting ridiculous with your hatred of him.

I seem to remember having a DC for almost a month one time. Does the name John Thompson ring a bell?

It's more than just flaunting, he probably feels comfortable that it's a good idea and will work and would love to give a guy a chance. Fact is now, he has nothing to lose by giving BG a shot.

This is my fear.

Maybe a verbal agreement/gentleman's handshake with a cash deposit was reached before the bowl and they just know how to STFU.

You understand that LSU is the kind of program that can hire currently employed OC's away. . .right?

We dont have to necessarily have an OC in place before signing day either. If the job is open does it change the recruiting class? What if its not official Crowton is gone by then? After signing day every OC in the country is back in play.

I think we can all agree that we know Les has his hand in the game plan and some of the play calling. So with that said - i don't see him going after some highly ranked guy. This person would want total control of the job and I don't think Les is ready to just let them have it. So the Billy Gonzales - and a QB coach sounds more of the direction he will go.

We'll get somebody good and we have BG as insurance. Be patient, have faith, we will be fine.

I disagree. We're fricking LSU. Let's throw some cash at some top notch OC's, and see what happens.

that does not necessarily guarantee success

What is Tommy Bowden doing these days, and would he fit into our system?

If it is Kragthorpe we should just keep Crowton.
