I put this on the wrong board so I moved it here. I posted for the first time in 10 years yesterday. I couldn't help myself. It was suppose to come out Monday but thing beyond adminstrative control do happen. As said before I am a long time member of the TAF fighting tigers. To tell everyone the truth......as I know it. The day that it was announced that the AD gave permission to Michigan to talk to Miles that permission had actually been given the wednesday or thursday morning before the Arkansas game. Bertmans announcement was made early this week because he had accepted the job. Bertman wanted to try and keep it under wraps as long as he could before he announced he gave "permission". Reality was he had accepted the job so Bertman needed to announce he gave "permission" in a timley enough manor that Miles could announce his resignation after the SECCG. Miles is a class act but I do believe he has been distracted a little too much. Carr screwed him amd he is and wasn't happy about the timing of Carr's announcement. Miles in closed circles has been very upset with Carr not holding up his end of the deal to announce his retirment after the SECCG which from what I have heard all along was the Deal between Miles and Carr. Good Luck Miles you dis us proud in my book.

Well the list of coaches is short but very distinguished. Were looking good right now. Don't know when any of that will be announced. Before or after the bowl game. Just not sure how the adminstration is handling that. Obviously not very well when you look at how this all leaked out before the SECCG.

As you all know any major choice like the football coach is thrown around amoung the supporters before the admin. makes a final pick. The TAF and other key organizations is really split up right now. Some as you well know want SABAN back at any cost...the problem there is the split it may cause across campus. Some of us are fans of Spurrier. I am one of those fans. But yes I do realize his age is a concern as well as how many years the adminstrtation believes that Spurrier has left. Im not saying I am totally against Saban. Just some things need to happen that I dont think will materialize in order for Saban to return. But stranger things have happened in Louisiana. But there are a couple of other coaches in the mix and one that has yet to be mentioned on any of these forums. Its gonna be an interesting next few weeks. As far as coordinators go. The door is wide open from what I hear. A OC or DC is only a phone call away ...only after a headcoach is chosen. The best of the best are beating down the door to work with this talent.

I heard Saban was in Monroe last week,Id like to see his answer how he lost UL-Monroe.Go after Tubberville or Spurier ,PLEASE

First thanks OleBallCoach. Some encouraging news in there on a bleek day.

Please name names on some of those unknowns that are looking for LSU's call. Including OC and DC.

Thank you Ole Ball Coach.

I knew Les wasnt out to hurt the LSU folks. It was Carr trying to stick it to Less.

I liked Carr for the NC, but they way he let us get pushed around the last few yrs and crap he is pulling now is making me rethink it.

I wish this hadnt happened today :(

I as well as alot of people here in ATL today are very disappointed in the timing of Carr and others within our administration. Alot of the guys believe it held heavy on our lose to Arkansas. But we have had a hell of a season and things are looking bright. The players have known most of this all week and have had time to put this behind them and prepare to win the SECCG and lets get to NO and take down the Sugar Bowl.

OleBallCoach at this point is there any reason not to name other candidates that you know about?

I doubt your credibility if you think for a second that we would wait until AFTER the bowl game (a month away) to hire a new coach

A OC or DC is only a phone call away

I also doubt that a big time coach would come
here without his OWN list for OC and DC

believe it held heavy on our lose to Arkansas

Lastly, why can't anyone on the Rant understand how to propoerly use "lose, loss, loose, lost" EVERYONE gets this wrong

Sorry, but thanks for the great post!

The problem with this attitude that LSU ALWAYS has, is that these OCs and DCs that are available, get jobs before LSU hires a head coach. That usually requires at least one Mulligan. Miles was able to dodge that with his staff, keeping Fischer and hiring Pelini.

If we hire a defensive guy, is there a sense that Crowton stays as interim/assistant HC/OC?
