Since Texas has no income tax, their offer to Saban will be tough to beat

@7.5 million, thats about 300,000 grand more a year in his pocket

Have you compare property taxes? Because I lived in Texas and owed property and they make up the lack of State Income tax through property taxes. I am willing to bet that the taxes may even out more than you think.

I think the amount he would get in Texas would offset his property taxes.
He doesn't have to buy a 10 million house if he goes there.

Property taxes vary by municipality
He could build whatever he wanted in an area with lower taxes?

Just don't know if Nicky will coach that long, but then, I thought Spurrier would be retired by now too.

I guarantee you the property taxes in Austin dwarf whatever they are in Tuscaloosa.

property taxes are high, however in the hill country west of Austin where lots of the money lives, a lot of that land is wildlife protected and thus recieved an Ag exception.
wife and i rode with a real estate agent recently in a beautiful area 30 minutes west of austin in the hills where lots of celebrities live and one area was protected by state and she said it was $100 per year for the land in taxes since its government protected. said lots of it around there was. i almost shite my pants
BTW heres a pic of some land we looked at, a little out of our price range, lol

its cheaper for them to pay him what he wants, than pay to get their "sons of saban" tattoos removed.
