Shouldn't Drinkwitz be in the mix for high level jobs?

The guy, to me, seems to be a damn good football coach.

If you can have the level of success he is having at Mizzou, then I think he is the type of guy that could take actual good programs to high levels.

Mizzou is really solid this year. I agree he's been impressive. Maybe people are waiting to see if he has any staying power before throwing a ton of money at him.

I like him. I think coaches that built a program up from scratch are the ones that should be targeted.

I also like Jedd Fisch at Arizona.

Does really well in modern day Portal/ NIL world and understanding how to build a roster. Similar to Lane in that regard. He should be.

I was kinda hoping we'd get him at Arkansas after Kiffin and Leach fell through but I don't know if he was ever actually offered the job.

I suppose, but what job higher than Missouri in the pecking order is open now?

He’s having a great year but will be his first winning season at Mizzou.

I guess, but they seem to be about $ and recruiting rankings. When have they actually contended?

He should stay right where he is at for now. Mizzou historically is a good program. Stay there continue to build on the success long term then jump to a bigger school or the nfl

He should stay where he is. I liked the hire when Mizzou got him from App State, but his seat was getting a little warm at this time a year ago when it looked like they might miss a bowl.

Now that he's finally winning in the SEC for the first time, he can try building a legacy there like Pinkel, and still be well-compensated. There's no reason to run off to a bigger meatgrinder now.

I think I'd give it one more year. If he has another solid season next year then sure

What he’s doing at Mizzou is great. The fact that he’s getting a lot of these St. Louis kids to come play for him is big. But I think he sticks around at Mizzou and tries to build something.

Missouri isn’t an “elite” tier job like Alabama, Michigan, etc. but we’re a good enough program and have enough resources at our disposal to fend off competition from most other “good” programs out there.

Sure A&M could throw a bunch of money at him, but no other jobs that are currently open really concern me. With his unprecedented recruiting, Drink has a chance to take Mizzou to levels rarely if ever seen before. Not saying we’ll be Georgia or Bama, but could have an Oregon type run from the early 2010s.

Just looked up and saw he "only" makes $4 million per year. I'd imagine Missouri does whatever they can to lock him down for a while after this season (if they don't do such within the next week or two).

Missouri is also recruiting quite well

He has done a good job keeping the highly rated Mizzou guys home, but look at their roster. Lot of Covid and 5th year seniors, especially in trenches. Which is fine, but I would be hesitant to hire him based on this year alone. Would want to see how he does next year after this group leaves
