Frankly I am glad that fricker was fired. I didn't think he was a particularly good coach. This year was case in point.

LINK

None of the options bantered about interest me though.

I thought the man was pretty good even though im not a broncos fan. Seems like defense was the main problem

Man is a damn good coach, a hall of famer for sure. I think it probably was time for a change in Denver. I relate it alot to the Tennessee situation. Things had gotten stale in both situations. The thing with Denver, you fire him and make a change, who can you get that is better? or even as good?

Yes, he was a good coach. Horrible with personnel though.

His act was stale. We need a new coach. Yes, the next coach will probably not end up with as good of record but we really should have won at least a couple playoff games in the last few years. He was gift wrapped the AFC west this year, only to piss it away.

It was time for a change. Sometimes it just is. I think Denver needs a defensive coach, and keep their offensive minds in place. My $.02. Cutler is a keeper, and bowlen will pay to bring in the free agents.

bingo

Shanahan is still one of the better coaches in the NFL. It is just time to move on. He will have plenty of options if and when he chooses to coach again.

I've never been a fan of someone wearing both the HC and GM/Head of player personel hats, FWIW.

totally agree, being HC and GM is way too much for one man these days.

Josh McDaniel was the reason the Pats lost the SuperBowl. His reluctance to adjust to the Giants defensive gameplan and allow Brady to dump the ball off killed the Pats. Once the Pats remember they had Welker and Faulk on the team and they started throwing over the Giants LBs and under the DBs in the 4th qtr they took the game over. But the damage was done by then and the NYG believed they could win the game setting up that last drive

I do. This board is about coaching changes, this is a coaching change subject, a valid one at that. All of denver was somewhat astonished that he got canned.
