Wouldn't an announcement regarding shadow staff be contradictory?

/joke

Who's being retained is likely moot anyway... it will change year to year quite a bit. Just the way it is.

I have heard from multiple people that Urban will be joining the staff in some capacity. Not sure if on field position or shadow staff. SIAP

Call them what you want.... shadow staff, analyst, consultants, etc..... just tell me what purpose have they served?

To me these positions are all about analytics. The amount of analytics in football with potential match-ups on each play and disguises in coverages, etc is their sole purpose to identify and help the on field coaches develop a game plan. To put together the strategy to be able to teach that plan to the players most in control of its execution.

Maybe something like that…

It’s not just that. Advanced scouting and internal scouting are big deals. Remember the look-over play against us in 2019? Finding tells and play calling patterns.

After thinking about what you said again, maybe we are saying the same thing.

At the LHSCA meeting Kelly mentioned that we had way too many analysts.

That's interesting. It would seem odd that having too many analysts would be bad. Providing data on yourself, tendencies, I would think is good

I guess if they are providing input on game planning it could become contradictory...but yeah if they just look at data points I can't imagine how you could have too many.

Last year an opposition coach had to tell O we kept running the same defense making you wonder what our shadow staff guys were doing.

I didn’t say that at all. My original question was focused on the existing staff is any of them from Orgeron’s staff will be retained.
