Serious questions......

Do you guys want a home run hire or just a "lets settle" hire?
If LSU has the opportunity to get the "next best" thing in college football, wouldn't you want that?
If your the manager of a store would you want to hire an up and coming young salesman with unique ideas and promise or a person that is portrayed as a used car salesman and it's gonna be a hit or miss with him?
If O is such a hot commodity as a HC then why hasn't his name been mentioned before at other schools?

Is the hit or miss candidate Cajun?
Vital part of this hypothetical imo

What about a coach that has a ring already?

You mean this isn't important in a coaching search?

Orgeron is definitely a mediocre hire. All SEC schools pray we settle for him.

I think people are missing the big picture, lsu troubles were bc les was in the offense and offensive line recruiting.
Coach o did falter at Ole miss but ole miss was not at the level now back then. Coach o has mentioned how he learned from his mistakes at Ole miss. He has said he had his hands in every aspect of ole miss football and when he got to southern cal he changed his philosophy and waa more of a ceo type and let his contact coaches coach

Cool. I'd love to see him test out all the things he's learned since then.
At another school. LSU isn't a tester school.

Do you hire coaches based on what they tell you? Or what they have done?

I think we hire a offensive cd, keep most of the staff, I think move peveto to a recruiting role and hire an lb coach and dline coach and special teams coach. Coach o has said he wants the dline coach now as part time coach
Put more money in recruiting and support staff like bama and I think we could be a top contender every year just my opinion

Considering we are not the ones making the hire it doesn't matter really. The person who Alleva and the board deem as the best person for the job will get it.
Personally I don't think you can fire a coach like Miles then promote an assistant. I think that's a bad look and makes LSU look weak.

I'm all for let the year play out. Get all of the ducks in a row. Then get the guy who will keep lsu at the top.
One of my biggest things for coach O is for him to show the powers that be who would be on his coaching staff, then compare that to another coach and what his staff would be.

Do you think the staff is more important than the HC?
Look around college football before answering.

I think most agree if les would of been hands off in the offense he would still be at lsu. Lsu already has one of the top defensive cd and defensive minds in college. If we bring in a good offensive cd coupled with the staff we have in place we are a top team

You better have a top notch staff. One man isn't able to do it all. Look around college football.
Alabama has the largest support staff in college football, and spends the most money.

People here clearly take a stance, good, bad, or stupid, and defend it to the grave

As time goes on, I think we are finding out that Les was screwing up much more than just the offense. Look, O is a great Louisiana representative and, potentially, a good HC. However, I'm not willing to bet the future of LSU football on it without a complete eval of all candidates in consideration. screw up this hire and it could be costly for the foreseeable future.
