19-3 at Houston is damn good.

Won a New Years six game against Florida state.

Did one of the best coaching jobs of all time with 2014 Ohio state offense.

Still a fantastic candidate.

This is what these people are so concerned about.

Eta: this is why he does it, according to him.

Football scoop guy said Herman likes working with the young guys. Said he didn't see Herman making the NFL jump.

But you never know with these guys.

It's not surprising one bit though. This small minded mentality is rampant throughout the South.

Houston losing games has zero impact on my view of Herman.

O has lost zero games and made no significant mistakes, though the sample size is admittedly still small. Yet, people are "panicked" about the possibility he may earn the HC gig.

Jimbo is one field goal away from having three losses in the ACC, but he's still the #1 candidate in many fans' eyes.

Herman has lost 2, with the latest loss being that they were throttled by SMU, who still hasn't recovered from the NCAA death penalty they received decades ago.

We cut bait with Les because his results on the field were not good enough, but on-field results mean absolutely nothing to many of you in the calculus of filling our HC vacancy.

You guys are rantarded. Until O proves otherwise, he should be considered our #1 candidate. Period. If he gets embarrassed by A&M, Rkansas, bama, or Florida, then other possible candidates may pass him up, but in his 3 games so far, he's had LSU performing at its highest level since 2011.

He beat 3 teams: Mizzou, USM, and Ole Miss. They are all teams with losing records. Yet, somehow the "rantards" are the people not all in on O. You're placing those three wins above ANYTHING else. Say what you will about Herman or Jimbo but look at their overall body of work compared to O.

Herman has as many wins as O in only two years as HC. Jimbo has about 50 more.

He already proved otherwise at Ole Miss. You can't ignore that. You make it seem like he has only coached three games in his entire career.

Yea and O lost to Wyoming with an SEC team. So what?

You pro-o people are so blind i would imagine your keyboard is in braille.

I'm not knocking it. It's a different world now days than the one I grew up in. Seems like a bit awkward ritual though. I like the way Miles, if he were to kiss a player, would be more spontaneous. Don't know if Fleck kisses his players but if he does he probably does it like Miles would, spontaneous, to break up a moment and not as a ritual.

Translation: O's out of the running to a guy who lost 38-16 to SMU and another who's only been good (not great) in his non-jameis Winston years, because of a coaching stint more than a decade ago. Gotcha.

Answer this hypothetical for me: if all three coaches win every game left on their schedule and none of the three goes to a bcs bowl or the playoff, which coach would you prefer?

Yes, I still want Herman, Kelly, or Fisher above O.

And, we're willing to give him the job if he keeps it close against Bama? Les kept it close too. He needed to go because he couldn't beat them. I'm over the moral victories against them

I'd go with higher risk side and pick Herman because of his upside. I wouldn't be upset getting Jimbo though. O would be third if we're only considering these three.

How many times do we have to discuss this? ALL coaches have bad losses on their record. Do you see how biased you are to O over everyone? You said that tom Herman's recent loss to SMU means he is a bad HC, but you follow that up with O's three years of terrible HC experience don't count because it's a decade ago. How does that make any sense. Coach O and Tom Herman actually have the same amount of wins. That includes Os interim jobs. The difference is losses O has 27. Herman has 3. O has 9x as many losses as Herman. you really think we should ignore that fact???

Wtf are you even talking about? How does that pertain to my comment of wanting to beat saban for real and not just as a moral victory?

Eta: if you think this is normal but Herman's kiss is not then you're truly a moron.

The turnaround under O is more of an indictment of Miles than a testimony for current staff. That being said, I appreciate them and what they have been able to do with this talented team to keep from flushing a season down the toilet.

Yes. Herman is still my #1 choice.

And that hasn't and probably wont change regardless of how well O does.

You still riding the Herman bandwagon after he goes 1-3 against Navy, SMU, Tulsa, and UCF?
