Add McElwain to the long shot list. If the offense doesn't show improvement and UF is hovering around .500 then it's over for him.

Hanigriff and Ott agree with you but damn!! How low of expectations does Miss State have?!!

They lost to BYU, Kentucky and South Alabama this year.

A few State fans were saying they wouldn't have been surprised by a mutual parting of ways after this season so I'm not sure what ground Mullen is on.

Fans =/= decision makers. MSU is a sub .500 program historically. Mullen is winning 60% of his games in the toughest division of CFB.

Any State fan who wants him fired is stupid.

ETA: Also, my guess is a "mutual parting of ways" consists of Mullen taking a better job and State fans being content with it.

Nah. With Ole Miss faltering in recruiting and potential of sanctions, Moo State will land a good recruit or two and if they beat Ole Miss a time or two, he will be there for a while. Plus, they just saw LSU hire CEO and there isn't a 'home run' hire coach out there. I'd be hesitant to fire Mullen right now.

2 straight SEC Championship games and he's on the hot seat. Got it.

Sumlin is on the "Charlie Strong" list. That list is the list of coaches who are completely incapable of doing enough to save their job in the next year.

10-4
8-4

they not paying that kind of money for 4 loss seasons at Florida. Dude bottoms out next year and loses 4 before the SEC Championship next year I could see Florida making a rash decision.

Exactly. His recruiting has been subpar and he has the same W-L record as WMs 1st to years

Dan Mullen will be at state as long as he wants. Some of you guys forget how hard a job that is. He has done a fantastic job.
