Charlie Strong is a distinct possibility.

No. We have enough Saints rejects on the staff already. It’s way past time for Bill Johnson and Greg McMahon to go. Not to mention Gregg Williams eventually turns into a cancer on almost every staff he joins.

Who’s the Saints Coach Charlie H was talking about last night? Sounds intriguing. We don’t need a big name. We need a recruiter and someone with an open mind that can use the weapons that are in the arsenal

Jeremy Pruitt. He is probably about to get fired we should go after him.

I would be interested to see if O and Pruitt can work together. Two very fiery guys.

Shoop or the DC at UAB just off the top of my head.

Shoop ran some nasty defenses at MSU.

And for all the fans worried about Pelini’s buyout could calm down because those two guys can be had for a lot less than some of these other names and probably produce better results.

Reaves, who’s on my list above. He would be a solid choice.

Either of these would probably be solid and logical hires, but knowing O, we’re going to get someone out of left field that nobody else was considering.

Tem Lukabu, Boston College.

Coached under Shoop at Miss. State. Also coached in the NFL.

Improved BC defense from ranked 101 to ranked 60 in his first season.

There are countless reasons it could take a bit. Maybe buyout is cheaper on 1/1? Maybe they have a quick secession plan they’re trying to put in place? Maybe the buyout is being negotiated down?

I think it happens quickly, maybe this week. They've probably got their guy lined up already.

That would be a dumb move. You only have 2 options for LSU. 4-3 guy for all they've recruited, or someone who doesn't traditionally run a 4-3 but can run a hybrid to player strengths similar to what Aranda did his first year here. Anything else isn't happening and would be stupid. If they went back to a 3-4 they've have mass transfers. Mason has done absolutely DICK in the SEC and would be an even higher risk move than Pelini. His scheme makes 0 sense for what we've recruited.
