Got this from GB

This is from the UCF staff writer on the UCF board on TOS. From different sources but sounds like it’s very similar info as was posted above in regards to Frost being UF’s clear #1 choice and Frost being on board whenever the official offer comes. I’m sure no contract will be signed until UCF’s regular season is over but that doesn’t stop Frost’s agent and Stricklin from getting everything worked out in principle so they are ready to move fast when UCF ‘s regular season is done or their conference championship which is December 2nd if they make it.

“So here's the latest I have regarding Frost and the Florida opening...

I've spent today gathering some more info. A source told me Florida has zeroed in on Frost as their top target, and boosters have already been in contract with Frost's representatives, gauging his interest in Florida. I was also told Steve Spurrier, who's a consultant for Florida athletics, gave his blessing to Stricklin on Frost as the top choice. Florida is fearful they could lose Frost to Nebraska if that job comes open. They're going after him immediately. Things could escalate quickly between Florida and Frost. However - if he is offered and accepts the job - I doubt he leaves UCF prior to their potential conference championship game in December.”

UF fans right now

IF true that is

He seems like a solid coach, but he's awfully young. It could backfire on UF pretty badly.

They can likely hire a bigger name if they want.

i mean, they struck absolute gold once in hiring the biggest young name out there. granted Urban was 40 or so at the time i think.

It's crazy how they fire their coach and immediately attempt to sign their number one target.

This is Frost's 2nd year as a HC, and he went 6-7 last year.

Urban had several years under his belt at a couple of different schools, so I don't think it's quite the same thing. If Frost had a couple of more years with 10 wins, then maybe.

Frost will be 43 in January. If UF gets him and he's successful there, he might stay there a very long time.

UF better hurry up

Frost told The World-Herald in a revealing 2012 interview. “I love Nebraska. The longer I’m away, the more it becomes a special place in my heart — despite what happened.”

In fact, Frost, who at the time of the interview was an assistant coach at Oregon, expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of one day coaching at Nebraska.

“Absolutely. It’s the No. 1 goal. Sometimes your goals come true and sometimes not. But there’s no other place I’d …”

He paused, seemingly not wanting his words to be seen as dismissive of his current job and employer. Then he continued.

“I guess I’d just say, a big part of my heart is in Nebraska, and I’d love to coach there someday.”

I know he's an alum, but it's wild to me that he would take Nebraska over Florida.

I think Frost will be very good, but Taggart would worry me more at UF.

id say thats very smart of both of them... he cant do at Nebraska what he can do at Florida.. and the east is down big time.. no way he can compete at Nebraska vs Ohio State/Penn State/Michigan..

2012 was five years ago. UF is a much better gig. Frost has a new baby. He's recently talked about the importance of being able to recruit close to home. I think Frost would pick UF over Nebraska.

I realized it's a crap shoot- you have no real way of knowing how things will turn out but Frost's trajectory at UCF looks a lot like Herman's at Houston. We're yet to see if Herman can turn around Texas but I don't think you can say "no" to Frost if you believe Herman was a good get by Texas.

Shoot with the shape Nebraska is in Frost could go to Florida now and then potentially go to Nebraska next if fired.

Willie is the best Florida can do. They will regret letting FSU hire Willie.
