Rooney Rule

This tells me they are not hiring Aaron Glenn. This guy checks the box. If they were hiring Glenn they wouldn’t need to interview Shaw. Hopefully Gruden is the choice.

Don’t you need to interview 2 guys now for Rooney rule?

Yeah they changed it in 2021. 2 external candidates.
Saints also requested to interview Anthony Weaver from the dolphins, so they are well passed the requirements at that point.
Shaw is likely a favor to get his name back out there for gigs (college or NFL). Weaver and Glenn seem like legit interviews/candidates on the other hand
ETA looks like there’s also an “in person” aspect to it as well. Not sure if Zoom interviews count and supposedly Glenn is holding his interviews virtually from what I saw. Possible that is why Shaw is there to fit that part of the rule. Which would also mean Glenn is a front running candidate most likely

Surely this is just for the DEI "we interviewed a black guy" check box.

Of list so far:
Rizzi NO, thank him for his service and players played hard for him
Shaw NO and now appears he will not be interviewing
Kellen Moore NO Barkley took a lot of pressure off his playcalling, he was average in Dallas and Chargers
Glenn MAYBE would rather him cut his teeth elsewhere, not sure if he is the answer
Weaver NO Dolphins defense hasn't exactly performed at a high level, offense carries that team
Kafka NO I have no idea why chiefs assistants especially on offense get so many opportunities
Nagy MAYBE he had Chicago competitive and I don't think he had ideal front office help, again back to the Chiefs assistant on offense and the Chiefs didn't set world on fire although injuries really hurt them and their line play has been average
Brady YES but big unknown and does he have personality to manage the whole operation
