I've met him several times, and even had what could be called a lengthy conversation with him.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's going anywhere.

Most people that actually know him would say he isn't going anywhere.

If he were five years younger and/or already had a championship at Bama, then say bye bye.

Dude, I didn't just make up any of the stuff I posted. I have read or heard that two or three times in the last month from national media. Have you ever been to South Bend? It sucks donkey balls. The wind/snow coming off the lake with the fronts is brutal. The whole area in that part of the state is full of racist rednecks.
I am just saying, if the administration doesn't allow for more "special project" type of recruits, ND is not going to come back strong anytime soon no matter who is coaching.

As to Saban, I don't think he is going anywhere anytime soon. He has every thing he needs to win and win big. For those saying his wife is unhappy, how do you know this?

I.ve also met Nick on several occasions and have a few friends who talk to him regularly. He does not love the enviroment in Alabama but its "tolerable", his words. He is a very devout catholic that grew up idolizing ND and its athletic program. If he were to recieve an offer of 5 mil or more I think he would leave. If he did, it would be for much more than the money he and his family much prefer that part of the country to live in.

That's funny. I believe he said something similar about LSU.

That is what he is in the process of doing at Alabama. I know that most of you hate to admit it but Alabama made the SEC what it is today. Alabama is the USC, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State of the South and I know it hurts to admit that but it is the truth. any SEC football fan older than 40 will admit this or either he is lying to himself.

We are Alabama, like it or not, and I am not saying that being arrogant it is just a fact. I grew up here and I am a BAMA fan. If I had grown up in La. I am sure I would have been and LSU fan but that is not the way my life unfolded.

Alabama will always be Alabama and any move from here would be lateral.

I don't know if I believe this either. He has a million dollar lake home in Georgia that he seems pretty happy to be near. He and his wife loved BR(Terry planted trees you know), they left for Miami, then went to Alabama. Doesn't seem like they are in a hurry to get back up north, but I could be wrong.
It just seems to me, Saban knows he is at a good place and knows he screwed up when leaving LSU and he doesn't want to make that kind of mistake again.

I agree notiger, I too think he has learned from that process, however no one and I mean NO ONE can discount the fact that there could be a chance for him to bolt on an offer from ND. Hence the premise of my original post, that people on here totally don't think there is a remote possibility of him going there. Again my point with the fact of what comes along with the ND job, why isn't he been discussed (or discounted) on that job.

Scoop, with all due respect to you....Alabama is not in the same league as to what Notre Dame could possibly be.

I really don't understand where the hate for Bama as a coaching job comes from. He is going to go undefeated for the second straight year in the best conference in college football. The fans and administration would lick his arse if he wanted them too. He has all he needs where he is and it is a better job than ND.
I really only think that at this time UF, Texas, and USC are the only places that one can say for sure is a better job than Bama.

That's true. Travel around the country and most every football fan will tell you they know the SEC cheats.

If he does win it all at Bama then you kiss him goodbye. He has NEVER stayed anywhere more than 5 years. He is always looking for the next challenge no matter what it is. His wife is also very influential in what job he takes, so you cannot rule that out either.

I also wouldn't rule him out as coach of the Dallas Cowboys in a few years.

Bama Fans we are not against you, just trying to fill you in on the facts that you don't see or choose to ignore while he is building your program into a National Power. Enjoy the ride, but just know that he will one day step off the coaster and move on to the next one.

wait, what? Compared to the bastion of tolerance know as Alabama? Or Baton Rouge for that matter? Come on man.

Weather and rednecks are not holding ND back.

Nick Saban is the CEO of football at Bama. He doesn't love LSU and Baton Rouge. He doesn't love Bama and Ttown, it's his business. I don't see him leaving Bama. He can stay there and win, win, win and they will pay him as much money as anyone in the country will. As Fans we LOVE our teams, we must understand coaches like Nick are professionals and it's a business not a love affair. He may have enjoyed BR but he ain't coming back and I think he'll be at Bama a long time. I think down the road he may decide to go back home (Pennsylvania area)or maybe even try the NFL one more time to prove it to himself he can do it, but it will be a while.

No one questions Alabama history or importance, or their status as an all-time great team but this is the arrogant attitude that makes people hate Alabama. Just because Alabama has the greatest history is not why the SEC is what it is today. Football has always been king across the South, this is not because of the Bear or the history of the crimson tide.

Rule changes, specifically scholarship limits, the CFA TV contracts and population growth are why the SEC is where it is today. Not because of what tha Barh did 40 years ago. If anything Alabama's dominance retarded the growth of the SEC, it did not foster it.
