Report: Orgeron no longer candidate at Southern Cal

Tennessee recruiting coordinator/defensive line coach Ed Orgeron has been linked to the vacant defensive coordinator position at Southern California.
It is unclear if Orgeron is a serious candidate or would accept the position.
The News Sentinel learned today that LSU made another run at Orgeron on Jan. 1, a day before he was formally introduced at UT.
A source close to Orgeron told the News Sentinel that LSU offered Orgeron substantially more money than UT did. Tennessee is expected to pay Orgeron about $600,000 annually. The source said Orgeron turned down the LSU offer saying he was already committed to UT.
Orgeron gained national acclaim as a recruiter while at USC.

That's where this report runs out of credibility. i believe if this happened Belowpar would have reported this.

Just offering him a job should be under wraps as well considering the situation. BP still reported it. Everything BP said has way early in the process was true. I think BP would have said whenever EO said no that LSU would counteroffer. I don't think Miles would even want to counteroffer.

This has been discredited several dozen times. Most reports say he drove to NO to meet Orgeron, when O was in Destin.
One idiot, Hyams, reported that Miles offered him, get this, $900K!!!
Of course that didn't happen. UT fans make up shite like that so they can say "Money isn't the reason O's coming to UT. UT is just too awesome to turn down!!!!Rocky TOOOOOOOOP!!!!!". In reality, money IS EXACTLY the reason O is going to UT.

SC doesn't have to release salaries since we're a private school. but Holt is making about 650,000 a year a Washington and I've heard that was a bit more than he was making at SC. Being the DC at SC is basically a glorofied position coach since Carroll controls the defense
