I didn't realize he'd interviewed at all those places. Thought he was a lifer at TCU. If this is true Joe Alleva should be kicked in the balls for not hiring him last year.

I don't see Patterson leaving TCU. Makes good money, low pressure, and is treated like a king. However, if he does go to Tennessee, that is a grand slam hire.

At first i missed that this was from a TCU board and was wondering how an earth a Tennessee fan would think this would decimate their program

Likely knows he’s maxed out at TCU and that VOLS as a program has a higher ceiling

Patterson also advocated for the LSU job last year

doesnt matter, the real reason orgeron was hired was so that Aranda would stay, no reason to bring in a defensive guy when we have the second best collegiate defensive mind in the nation...

I'm actually hoping that Aranda is named coach in waiting and let orgeron get his 3-4 years of fame and to stock the cupboard for Aranda... Promote Corey Raymond to DC

He is 57, makes $5.1 million/year, has his program at the top of the conference year in and year out and is a fringe playoff contender every year.

Why would he leave that for a complete rebuilding job?

He wouldn't

Same here. Especially with the fact that Paterson was very interested in LSU from what I've read

Honestly I don't see Aranda wanting a head coaching gig

I think he's destined to be an nfl DC. Not everybody Wants to be a hc, and from what I've heard about him from people that have met him, doesn't seem like he'd like all that goes with it. He'd rather be breaking down film than schmoozing alumni.

I dont think right now for sure.. I think he wants the NFL, it fits him best.. he is an x's and o's guy that runs multiple fronts.. its what the NFL covets.. Im just saying if im the AD, id have multiple private conversations with him to tell him, orgeron has 3-4 years to stock the cupboard and then its all yours..

Y'all aren't the only ones with this one

Until recently, I was in the same boat as everyone else on this board. But I've heard from multiple reputable sources that are well tied in with the program that an offer from A&M scares them more than any school in the country. Doesn't fully add up to me, but it has certainly started to make me a little nervous
sooooo yea. It's almost like these are completely useless rumors

This. Tennessee isn't going to be able to match what TCU currently pays him and I don't think recruiting would be any easier. No upside, all downside.
