Okay since my first thread got whacked...I am simply asking, would Rich who hasn't faired well at Michigan jump ship if contacted?

Nope. He isn't going to leave after the 1st yr. If this were two or three yrs into his UM job and he was still doing bad, then he would be out of there for AU. But he also runs the spread so I don't think AU is going to bring in somebody w/ that system.

Take it for what it's worth, but ESPN's Mark May has already reported that after talking with Michigan insiders and people close to Rodriguez, RichRod would make the jump to a good job in the ACC or SEC if given the right package and if the school was willing to pay Michigan off.
That said, I think it's a long shot to say the least that RichRod would jump to Auburn. And given the debacle Auburn experienced this year trying to implement the spread, I doubt very seriously they hire a head coach that runs the spread offense. In short, the spread is what brought down Tuberville and Auburn.

I believe it is more than plausible, he can't be happy at UM and his "get a life" comments pissed a lot of people off at UM

Many people think the Auburn administration is infatuated with the spread.
It probabaly didn't work with Franklin because he wasn't allowed to bring any of his assitants with him. None of the guys in place had ever coached for a spread before.
Besides the offense Auburn ran under Franklin was half at most of his system.
IMO, Auburn's admins think they need a "fun" offense to be able to recruit against Nick.

I would state what brought Tubbie down was a few vengeful members of Auburn's Board of Trustees and some big donors. Spread is just an excuse.
Rod to Auburn would be interesting. The bones of a spread offense are there so the adjustment would not be that big.
I think Rod's version of the spread might fit better.

No. Trying to implement the spread with assts (not Franklin) who did not know the spread. The other offensive assts had been with Tubs 10 years. If he had fired them last year and let Franklin bring his own guys in he would still be there.

I don't think it is impossible. Rich just got through one of the worst seasons in the rich history of Michigan. You know they can't be too happy with that and also his "get a life" comments. I don't think the spread brought down Tubs. Franklin didn't have a chance. He didn't have the right assistants to run the offense. He also didn't have the time to get the players to run the offense. I could see Rich getting hired at Auburn. If he did, I think Miles to UM is a done deal. They know they made a mistake and will do whatever it takes to get him. He has a national championship and he is an alum so he will give it his all to make UM better. I think that Miles didn't go because his team was in the SEC championship and he knew he had an outside chance of going to the national championship. If LSU wouldn't have been playing in the SEC/National champ, I think he would have left. It is his alma mater and his mentor Bo Schembechler coached there. I think it is his dream to coach there, but he couldn't turn down a chance to win a NC. It would have distracted the team and looked bad on him if he would have come out and said he was leaving. So I really think he would leave if Rich goes to Auburn.
Who would coach LSU? Tuberville is available. Also Butch Davis may come here. I really think that if Miles would have left after last year, Saban would have come back if offered. I am not sure he would come back now. Tommy Bowden could be an option as well. I think there are good options out there.

Nobody would leave Michigan to come to Auburn. Michigan is like Alabama, that is bigtime college football.
