Rodriguez Not Safe Yet

i doubt outgoing AD will fire him. But i agree now is their chance.

Here's the thing. The two people who have a say in this have both said something and nothing at the same time. If you hear the AD's comments, he said on Sunday that "There are no plans to fire Rodriguez and he will be our coach as of today.
The president of UM pretty much said no comment.
Fact is, Michigan is being very intelligent about this. They are likely waiting to get the internal investigations and NCAA investigations over so that when they fire him they have "Cause" and thus won't have to pay his buyout. If they act now and the findings aren't what they expect, they will owe him a shite ton of money.
In the end, a decision on Rich Rod's status as HC won't be made until December, unless they have a candidate they can't miss on. This is why Miles' stupidity on Saturday screwed over both LSU and UM. He would've fit what they needed, but now he won't get a sniff and won't be their safety net anymore.

He also paused before he walked out the door, turned around and said that Rodriguez would be UofM's coach next year too. Mary Sue has only continued to give support through her spokespeople. She won't give direct interviews at this time about the situation.
What I find interesting is that Beilein, and not Rodriguez was picked to be on the advising committee for the new AD. Basketball season just started so Beilein is probably pretty busy, and everyone knows football is the schools cash cow. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it just struck me as odd.

With the AD leaving, Lloyd Carr would have a big say in who they bring in. Carr isn't too fond of Miles. I actually think they keep RR and if he doesn't show major improvement, the new AD can get rid of him and bring in his guy.

RR is not on the selection Committee becasue he is new to UM and they do not want the new AD to be indebted to RR. The writing is on the wall. Will he last the year? Maybe not, pending NCAA ruling.

Agreed. I have 2 friends who graduated from Michigan, and they say that he will get a 3rd year for sure.

The NCAA investigation is the wild card. If the violations allow UM to get out w/o a buyout he is gone. That will be a one time opportunity.

He was wrong for UM from the start. He style just doesn't fit and doesn't work anymore.

He would have been pissed off that they didn't make the national championship and we did, then two weeks later happy we made it.
