@RapSheet: The #Panthers are hiring #Baylor coach Matt Rhule, source says (as @PeteThamel reported). They are working out the deal as we speak. They did not...

That leaves McDaniels and Judge for the Giants in all likelihood.

Idk how I feel about this hire. I hope it works in our favor bringing in a coach from the college level.

I like it and he's worked on a championship NFL team before.

How do you think this hire will affect what the Panthers do with Cam Newton? More likely to keep him or still try to move him?

Who the frick wants Cam Newton? Seriously?
I think he's physically done as a starting QB in the NFL.
His body is beat up and broken.

What would your ideal scenario be dealing with the QB position if not Newton?

Keep the two they have on staff now.
and just LOSE.
You're not winning with either QB in the future.

That foot injury is tricky. If he can get back from that, he will win football games again somewhere. Hopefully a team that is dedicated to putting together an O-Line that won't get their QB killed weekly.

No, Tepper and Rhule are a natural fit.

This and the fact that he's already had surgery on his throwing shoulder. Kinda need a good strong shoulder to play QB and he and his doctor have both publicly stated that he has lost some range on motion with the damage to his cartilage.
Sad to see him go from the MVP to what he is now because the franchise wasn't smart enough to either invest in an O-line to protect the franchise player, or not play the style of offense where he runs the ball 15-20 times a game only to get physically destroyed. That style of play was fine from 2011-2015 when he was young but one can only take so much punishment before you have to think about changing your style of offense.

Panthers are giving former Baylor HC Matt Rhule a seven-year - seven year - deal worth $60 million that with incentives could be worth up to $70 million, per league sources.
