From this it's looking like Nussmeier will be the new OC.

A source at Washington has confirmed to me that Doug Nussmeier will be offensive coordinator at Alabama.

I don't understand why Bama is hiring a guy with no playcalling experience to be their OC. If they're going to hire him, make him the Co-OC with another offensive coach who has playcalling experience. Don't understand this move at all.

Not impressed, but a monkey could be OC for Saban.

Get a clue, bruh. he was qb coach & had gameplanning duties. He worked for Bobby Williams (Saban connection) at MSU & Pat Hill (saban connection) at Fresno St.
Great reputation as qb coach. Solid recruiter. Good hire.

just because the offensive plan is relatively simple doesn't mean it doesn't take skill to call the right play at the right time. Mcelwain was a well above average OC.

I guess you didn't follow my lame joking manner.
How bout this.........Bama doesn't need a superstar hire to win big.

But I think either of these hires are tremendous. I don't care if they have limited playcalling experience, because of the head coaches they work for. Their QB development has been pretty damn good. I can't wait to see what either can do with A.J. McCarron.

So, is this the guy who took over for McElwain when he left Fresno State for UA?

He did a great job developing Locker.
