I'll stick to my list. Most likely realistic.
David Brewerton, Dale Weiner, JT Curtis, Marcus Randall, any of these will be realistic.

Not many. Briles, Gilbert, Riley would be the start. Kiffin is on the edge of that list. I think he works well under Saban. I'm not sure what we will look like post-Saban as an HC or OC.
Appelwhite is not ready. I don't want him near our OC job yet.
That's probably it. The problem with Elite Coordinator, and this stupid plan as our goal, is that they have a short shelf life. 2-3 years of being a top level coordinator will get you a job at least at a mid-major.
Again, of course any team wants successful coordinators, and you expect them to move on once they are successful, that's why your HEAD COACH should be someone 1) Elite himself on one side of the ball 2) Be able to install a philosophy that he both coaches from and hires from. That's where consistency comes from, the Head Coach.
When your entire plan is that you'll hire the best, instead of installing a philosophy and program that can be the foundation upon which everything else happens, you will most likely fail. When we have multiple coordinators coming in with different approaches every 2-3 years... PRO-STYLE OFFENSE...then SPREAD then PRO AGAIN, then SPREAD AGAIN (oh look, it's already happening), your margin for error will be huge. It will mean that EVERY hire has to be absolutely perfect, and they have to be able to install a system (their system, different from the last guys system) in under 6 months time, and have it be successful immediately.

The list should only be elite coordinators.
"should" being the operative word

I truly believe this Canada thing is TD driven. I dont think they are really considering him.

Is there anyone on that list from Louisiana that we can get fat and lazy with
We get it. You do not like our new head coach. Thanks for sharing.

Helfrich is elite.
Best thing about him is he will be staying at coordinator and not attempting another Head Coach move.

We have no legitimate information so I'm living in my own fantasy world where there are competent decision makers in place:
1. Kendal Briles
2. Canada
3. Riley
4. Helfrich
5. Sark
6. Kiffin

1) Lane has been practicing against Saban's defense for 3 years.
2) Bama has a west coast offense because Jalen Hurts doesn't through the ball well (yet), so they go east and west a lot as opposed to north and south.
3) Kiffin developed a true freshman quarterback and tailored an offense around him that has only scored less than 30 points once this entire season.
4) Kiffin is one of the most versatile offensive guys available. He designed a championship offense around Jake Coker because he works with what he has.
I don't know if a Briles offense would work for LSU. We need a pro-style spread that attacks short distance with playmakers and has the "busted coverage" deep routes.

Tee Martin from USC would be a good hire if O could convince him to leave. This was his first season as OC and he did great job with a freshman QB

I'm preparing my soul to be crushed by a truly uninspiring but inexpensive hire.

I've already prepared myself by betting my friend $10 that Ensminger will be the OC next year. If I lose, great, we get an actual OC. If I win, there's $10 in it for me, so I have something to comfort me.

This is how a proper search is handled. You shouldn't have 8 million frick heads releasing info. We don't need some live update of every person we want. That gives them every bit of leverage against us

You truly believe TD nominates the Bryoles Award candidates? You truly believe that LSU is not interested in the best OC in 2016?
K...

The same LSU that just 2 short weeks ago wasn't interested in Fuente, Fleck, Rhule, Gundy, Fedora or any number of head coaches who would likely be better than our DL coach who'd failed spectacularly in the SEC??
Yeah looks like we were all in on Kiffin and now we are scrambling for a back up plan.
