This coaching search has everyone extremely fickle. Bottom line is this: Herman or Jimbo would be wins for LSU. No need to draw a line in the sand between the two. If you believe people around here, it seems like Herman isn't considering LSU for whatever reason. If he is and LSU isn't really considering him, that would be a huge mistake. We would be lucky if either him or Jimbo decided to come to LSU.

eta. If you have Orgeron over either, your opinion on anything LSU related going forward should not be entitled any deference.

If any of the decision makers at LSU have Orgeron over either, god help us.

Yes. Either would be a better choice over O, for sure.

Agree I wanted Herman or Fisher when it all started. I assumed Herman fell off bc he wants Texas or we decided not to wait to see how that played out with Texas.

I am all aboard the Jimbo train now. No looking back but I can understand those that prefer Herman.

I'll take a chance on Herman over Jimbo if those were the only two choices. Just feel that Jimbo's hit his ceiling with a lightening in a bottle at QB.

Someone said it best the other day. Jimbo is looking like Gene Chizik right now. Dynamic, dual-threat QB that was NFL ready. Hasn't had the same type of wins or luck without them. Both lose to bad teams on a regular basis. I just don't think Jimbo adds anything that a great OC would add.

Comparing Jimbo to Chizik is retarded

I'd be thrilled with either one.

I think Jimbo is the safer pick though.

Herman has the potential to be the next "generational" coach, but Jimbo is a consistent top 10 coach that will stay at LSU until he retires.

The line in the sand is necessary if you care about offensive styles. Prefer Herman's.
