It's funny how everyone keeps saying Lanning. He may be a fantastic hire in the SEC, but he is 8 games into his career. Is he really that hot of a commodity?

Drinkwitz was a huge steal for Missouri! No hurry to do well right off the bat. Just a slow rebuilt and it is working very nicely.

You left off Franklin.

He’s the next Brian Kelly (leaves a successful program for the resources of the SEC)

Clearly it is Kiffen, and then everyone else. And why wouldn't he leave Ole Miss for Auburn. What else can he do Go the the SECCG? That's not going to happen at Ole Miss...

Rhule- The best candidate in this group. Has shown that he can build a program and that he wants to be in a place for an extended time. Auburn would be scary with him leading the rebuild effort.

Kiffin- A great coach, and also a pretty good program builder when he decides to stay put. His biggest knock is that he seems to be a "greener pastures" kind of guy and will leave places at a drop of a hat. Have to always wonder if he wouldn't bolt for Alabama the second it comes open.

Lanning- I don't know much about him other than that Oregon is doing pretty good under the first time HC's leadership. Would he give up Nike money and resources to come back into the SEC and rebuild the Auburn program though?

Deion- The big Wild Card of the group. No one will argue that Sanders has great recruiting skills, but is that enough to get Auburn out of its rut? The SEC is a mix of great recruiting, superior coaching, and big time money. Would Primetime be ready for Primetime?

Freeze- As good as he's been since being banned from the SEC, I don't think it'll be enough for Auburn to seriously pursue him and advocate for his return to the conference. He burned that bridge 100x's over and pissed on the ashes.

The dude has coached 8 games in the Pac 12. Is that enough for you Auburn fans to be sold on him already?

No.

It was a head scratcher as to why he was such a hot name when Oregon hired him imo. He had only been a DC at a P5 program for like 2 years. And he had a squad full of NFL stars to coach during that tenure.

I have no idea if he's a good coach or not. May e he is. Idk, just seems to not have much experience.

From a rival perspective, Deion would concern me the most. I realize that may sound silly to some, but his recruiting is insane.

I think it'll be Rhule or Kiffin. Kiffin actually does not concern me, but that would be a nice get for them.

The only thing Freeze did that other coaches don't is he used his provided phone instead of a burner.

I assure you there's not a saint on the list of candidates for this job.

I the SEC would approve Freeze, I would hire him in a second. The dude is a good coach and beat Saban.
