Don't believe it for a second. Won't be Sanders and it won't be Franklin and the assclowns who say they know it to be so are message-board wannabes with no more inside knowledge than my house cat.

The crowd at Tidefans are speculating that the new OC is going to be Scot Loeffler. He fits the profile of the types of OCs that Saban has hired at LSU and Alabama i.e. limited experience as OC in Division 1-A who have an extensive knowledge about QBs. I hope he's not the hire but it does seem pretty plausible to me.

Hey, just agreeing with your fellow Gump...

Besides, we had ours, and learned from that shite. I hear Crowton is looking for work if yall can't work it out with Sanders...

Loeffler?

Straight from the Addazio coaching tree.

Temple ran the shite out of the ball this year with very little passing(11 TDs passes among 3 players). Kinda like Bama '08, but than ran the QB more.

That would have to change if he were to be hired, until Winston anyway...

Loeffler sucks as a QB coach as well, he's horrible. Not a motivated recruiter either. I would think Saban could do MUCH better.

I never heard of this guy but I thought it was Clawson who destroyed the Tenn offense after Cutcliff?

Randy Sanders wouldn't be as successful as Jim McElwain, but he wouldn't be a colossal failure either. He would have talented and developed players to work with. The latter of which was something that wasn't going on at Tennessee for much of the time period after 2001. Regardless, I doubt it's going to be Sanders or Loeffler. It will be someone with connections to Saban, or someone on the offensive staff, that uses similar philosophies. It will also be a younger and more than likely unknown candidate.

Randy Sanders is not now, hasn't been, and won't be a candidate for OC at Bama. I say that not because I've spoken to people in the know (i'd be embarrassed to ask about Sanders), but bc I have common sense.

Also, last time I did talk to a coach about the Bama OC position I was told the next OC will have either NFL experience or have a connection to Saban, but the preference is both.

I'll give you a name of someone who has NFL coaching experience and a connection to Saban. Jim Bollman, the current Ohio State offensive coordinator who won't be returning next season. I hope Saban doesn't hire him because Ohio State has been way too conservative on offense the last ten years but he fits both of your requirements. Bollman was Saban's offensive line coach from 1995-1997 and he was a TE Coach in the NFL for three years.
