Gotta spend money to make money. Should have learned that from Saban's time here or just take a look at Bama.

So, take the shittier coach? Nobody truly knows the current relationship they have except Jimbo and Tommy. I can tell you that at one time Jimbo, Tommy, Will, and Derek were all pretty close. The question remains, who's the better coach? Tommy is way more coveted in the D1 football market.

Thanks for info...if they can pull Fisher it will be one of the more impressive coups in major college coaching hires.

It is the epitome of a home run hire.

Those down on Fisher just don't understand how good of a coach and fit he is for LSU.

Really would like to keep O on staff if we hire Jimbo, but if we lose Aranda...I don't think I will watch LSU football next year.

Nope not yet, I have a friend who is a member out there but it's very hard to get on. We play the NBC Srixon AM Tour quite a bit though and that gives you a bunch of opportunities to play courses that aren't open to the public.

How do we know Aranda doesn't want to keep O and Raymond? They're two of the best in the country at their job.

Where did I say he wouldn't? I only stated he'd be able to pick who he wants in case O or whoever wants to go elsewhere. They may all stay here, I'd hope so, but we don't know.

Jimbo has had everything at FSU to be extraordinarily successful in a much weaker conference. Yes, I know he's won a national championship. However, I've also seen his teams get beaten by weaker opponents too often. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid LSU is making a very expensive mistake.

For 7M maybe he could resurrect Harris?

Maybe to late now, but I have zero doubt Jimbo could've made Harris a all SEC QB

he doesnt deserve to be in the same company as those two

Agree. He hasn't won anything of significance yet.

He has a passing offense that has ranked in the top 22 every year he's been there and he would own sh*t with our defense. We win every game this year if he was the coach. That's a fact. Whenever he's had an elite defense he won it all, then the DC got paid somewhere else. That wouldn't happen here.

Please explain. I've heard FSU is a little tight when it comes to assistants. Is there more to it than that?

Question: Would not Sexton let FSU know the offer on the table and at least allow them to counter? I find it hard to believe that FSU couldn't match or bump LSU's offer to keep their coach if they in fact consider him as elite as many on this board think he is.

I know the optics have to be preserved, but Jimbo simply may want to come to LSU. Even if that is the case, he still needs to get a raise. Everyone gets to save some face.

They've lost 8 games in 4 years, 4 of those to teams ranked #5 or higher. If you're going to kill him for 4 losses in years to teams he "shouldn't" have lost to, there isn't a coach out there that will probably satisfy you
