Question about J. Fuente...

What makes him a great OC when TCU has to have another OC along side him? Who really calls the plays and who really coaches the QB's at TCU?
Just wanting to know.
Just wanting to know.

Fuente calls the plays and coaches the QBs, I read this the other day and it was made to sound like Patterson has said this publicly.

The other guy has been there for 10 years.
Fuente was brought in to "energize" the offense, I guess you could say. It has improved under his watch.
Also kicked arse as an OC at Illinois State.

Proven ability, age, growth potential and recruiting contacts in the DFW area.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like it would be great hire for us. Looks like a young guy with good energy which we need.

Check his resume..........or do like I do, check with other coaches.

He is only 34...so what does that say about his experience?
I think jeff Fisher became the Oilers HC at 36...and Cower was young too, so age doesn't always apply but most times it does..
I am skeptical..but listening

34 is pretty young for a guy to be a coordinator... guys that are NFL head coaches by their earlier 30s are typically superstars (unless named Lane Kiffin).

That's what I'm talkin bout!!
The only thing better than getting Patterson as HC is keeping Miles and getting Patterson's OC!
Gaddam I hope this happens!!!

Here is my inquiry. If he's had 2 other interviews (Clemson,SC)and didn't get the job whats his problem?

That is a bit interesting to me, but you also have to keep in mind that both of those schools have dumbasses running their programs into the ground as we speak.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that they haven't offered him the right combination of autonomy and $$$. Gary Patterson's staff is WELL taken care of. Fuente's a relatively young guy... GaryP is letting him take a look at the "greener pastures" right now because TCU is at a crossroads.
I think Fuente's having to choose between staying in Ft. Worth and doing the work necessary to adapt his offensive philosophy to what TCU will be facing when they jump to the Big East (and remain a Co-OC)... or finding a spot where he can keep his O as is (and be the only one wearing the OC hat).
ETA:
It goes without saying there is a "money must justify the BS" element in play as well.

Do you have a 100% interview conversion rate?

Sometimes things aren't the correct match. Doesn't mean someone is not a good candidate elsewhere.
