Please provide sources for Texas firing Strong

Any sources? I'm thinking this is made up. Please provide one legitimate link. Can anyone do that? I keep hearing how Charlie Strong will be fired, but I'm confused where in the Texas brass this is coming from.

Do you think they would leak it to the media that they plan on firing him? It's pure speculation and Internet rumor.

I'm told it's true. It's being thrown around here as truth at least.

The Longhorns didn't want Charlie in the first place. He's a defensive coach and they've played terribly. Why do you think you'll get a link from boosters and this being a common fact he needs to win games.

How do you know this? They hired a coach they didn't want? What's your source besides your own head?

I have no opinion if it's true or not, but even if it were 100% true and well known, there would still be no links stating it as such.

Not sure sources are required. Season will play out and if they underperform, he will be gone. And they look weak. So one could deduct he isn't going to turn it around this season.

Just because they're one of many booster families doesn't mean their opinion is the predominant opinion of the entire booster base.

First option was Nick Saban, second option was??? Gary Patterson? Who was the second option? Nick Saban was a long shot, so I'm not sure I would call Charlie Strong the third option. Strong was the first realistic option for them, and that much is clear.

If he loses both of those games that's different. Texas isn't firing Charlie Strong because LSU fired Les Miles though....and that's whats being trotted out as true on here. We can revisit this after the next two games for Texas. If Texas wins against Oklahoma St., then I think its safe to say he will be okay as long as he plays OU well.

I think most will agree that with guys like Herman having success that if Strong doesnt show a major improvement this season that Texas will cut bait and go after the new name. The fact that he's in state probably makes him more attractive.
