The Pittsburgh Steelers will reportedly move on from Matt Canada after the regular season, acknowledging what fans have known since Week 1.

Matt Canada’s trajectory is an incredible one. How can a man who consistently fails when in power continue to move up the coaching food chain? It’s all about who you know.

In Pittsburgh, Canada got along well with Ben Roethlisberger, and evidently Mike Tomlin as well. He received a second season in charge of the Steelers offense — something fans knew wouldn’t go well — and failed miserably.

Surely, Canada will become our local political representative next.

How that fricking guy has been in such prestigious positions for so long is beyond me. I feel like his only career accomplishment is hanging 70 on Clemson while he was at Pitt. Just a dislikable prick and an overrated coach

Canada did great at Pitt in '16. Hung 45 on Clemson and only defeat for the eventual national champs.

Seems like coordinators play musical chairs in the NFL.

Canada seems like a huge douche but let’s not pretend Orgeron wasn’t likely an arse himself in that situation.

I didn't watch any Steeler games while he was there. Did he have the backs and receivers square dancing before every play, like at LSU?

He had an 83 year old Ben Rohtlisberger and Mitch Tribusky was the starter when the season opened this year.

Not like he’s had a lot of toys to play with.

Yes, I am Coach O. I shite on myself harder and more consistently than any other poster on the board and call myself a poonhound embarrassment to the entire state of Louisiana regularly. Disliking Matt Canada certainly means that you must love Ed Orgeron too

This assessment is a little unfair. Most of his career moves have been due to HC changes (Indiana, Wisconsin, Maryland) or promotions because he was successful (NC State, LSU).

I also think his stint as interim HC at Maryland was rather admirable after the fallout from Jordan McNair's death.
