Petrino is a genius

If a genius is someone who puts themselves in position to win 2 games each year and play in BCS. Beat Florida State who sucks this year, lost to Clemson, and gets tons of respect. Stomping Charlotte, North Carolina State, and Wake Forest does not equate to good football.

First I do believe that Louisville is for real this year, that is if they can get past UVA today which at this point they are not playing like the number 5 team in the nation. But I don't understand why they aren't catching more grief regarding their out of conference scheduling like the Big 12 always does. I realize that Houston isn't helping them out but Marshall and Charlotte not impressed. Kentucky is a rivalry game but let's face it Kentucky, although being a power 5 conference team and SEC team shouldn't really instill fear in anyone.

I think Petrino did some of his best coaching work at Arkansas which has nothing to do with what you are saying

And is on the ropes against Va. still would take him over everyone else by a mile.

Once again, give me the a-hole that will win championships over a mediocre mother theresa.

For myself, I'm just concerned with recruiting. Will the HS coaches in this state buy into him?

pretty sure they won't. He is his best at a mid tier school, like Arkansas and Louisville, where that doesn't matter as much. At LSU he would be hot garbage and recruiting would tank.

Good thing you have nothing to do with this hire.

This. He lied to his boss. He had 10 days to come clean and tell the truth, yet he kept lying to his boss.
That's who we don't want. I don't care that he can coach and recruit. His lack of integrity would come back to haunt us.

Miles won a Natty and the SEC twice.
Bobby won once in CUSA and once in the Big East which consisted of WVU, Pitt, Syracuse, Cincy, South Florida, Rutgers, and UConn.
One coach's championships are >>>> than the other

Of course he is a genius...he got the University of Arkansas to put his mistress on the payroll. Having someone else paying for your "kept" woman is true genius.

And one coaches program is better and was in a better position than the other. I swear some of you really do not seem to understand the vast differences in quality of programs and look at things just from the top failing to realize that a schedule that looks easy for LSU is very different for another CUSA team.
Bobby Petrino put Louisville in the top 5 TWICE. He also had Arkansas in the top 6, behind only LSU and Bama in 2011. If that's not good enough for you, then your opinion is really not valid because you either do not understand or have standards that are impossible.
None of that means Petrino would, for 100% certain win big at LSU or even out do the record Les Miles built over 12 years. But his resume suggests a very strong likely hood that he could and would do as well or better.
