Great news. For all those who said they would ROFL if he was leaving us - here's to you.

I will sleep better tonight. He just got more expensive to hire away.

I would have been devastated had he left. I honestly would not have been happy with anyone replacing him. Not even Saban.

The Haters can think what they want but we made a homerun hire when we got Petrino.

Maybe based on hardware. But saban has been at LSU and Bama. Petrino could win bcs champs at those schools as well. I never said Petrino was better anyway. I Said I would rather Petrino than Saban.

I think Petrino fits in great here

Didnt Petrino do a long term deal with Louisville right before he dumped them for the NFL?

Kind of like at Louisville when he signed a 10-year extension and left the next season.

They calculated his contracts on the radio yesterday. It was something like 26 years of contracts between 3 teams in 4 seasons. Oh yeah...and he tried to get Tommy's job from under him at Auburn while he was his OC.

Until the contract is signed and approved, it doesn't matter what Arkansas has offered to him. If he signs it, then he isn't leaving this year. If it isn't signed by early January, then Arkansas has a problem.

It's a desperate attempt by the AD...to keep the chatter down, we did it too with Saban and Miles.

Arky is a solid program (great facilities), but it's firmly planted in the middle of the pack of the SEC and won't move up IMHO regardless of a few bowl wins.. The SEC is loaded with tradition and big boy football programs.

Take Tennessee for example..they are down right now, but from a total "program" standpoint and overall tradition of winning, they are way ahead of a program like Arkansas. I guess I am really talking about national perception. I can't remember Arkansas ever winning the SEC or anything of "significance". Until that happens, they can't change perception they are trying to change.

Arkansas is too close to Missouri which is the "show me state"...they are still waiting for Arkansas to "show them something"

Sounds a little like what they said in Atlanta and Louisville at one time doesn't it?

Joe Schad is some dbag Auburn hater so otherwise I would tell OP to GTFO and GFY SRSLY but KNWA also reported Tuberville to Arkansas and they are definitely legit. LINK

LSU will whip Arkansas the next 3 years!!!

Write that down...

I guess that is why Saban's team finished behind Arkansas - with the obligatory "superior athletes".

Saban is a much better defensive coach.

Petrino is a much better offensive coach.

That I could agree on.

Then what do you have to say about your outstanding victory over Tennessee? Can't wait to hear that one explained.

As for Ark, they beat your team in that ground and pound drive in the fourth. And we took a knee on the 1 yard line - which was the classy thing to do. Point is it could have been worse...

How about the 3/4 games in the last four years?

But Petrino has won how many SEC's?

How many MNC?

Get back to us on what win MNC..offense or defense?

I guess this years MNC game will be more about defense than we think won't it?
