It says he retired in 2002, then he must have come out of retirement when he was added to the Phillidelphia Eagles staff in 2006 where he remains today.
He looks like he would be a great get.
Old time TIGER!

Pete Jenkins would be great. One of the very best D-line coaches that ever lived. Also loves LSU.

Your a fricking moron
Pete Jenkins is one of the best DL coaches ever.
Before anyone says anything about recruiting, this guy was a incredible recruiter. In fact in the 80's when LSU had gotten some bad reps in New Orleans he was the only LSU coach that could go into New Orleans High School and get black kids. This guy is legend and adored among the HS coaches. If LSU can get him to come back they should do it yesterday.

I love the stories Clint James used to love tell about his time under Coach Jenkins, of whom always had a smile and wink for this student as he jogged past all over campus.
James loved to tell of the day that Jenkins was seen putting pebbles and small rocks into his sneakers before a practice, of which he often wore without socks when I saw him running.
When James asked Coach why, Jenkins replied something like "Because, I just wanna, I'm gonna be PO'ed all day, and be on all your asses, all damn day!"
They all would've run through a brick wall for Coach Jenkins!

Coach Pete was a stud and Nick Saban made a smart move bringing him back here on his first staff at LSU. He would be great but with his age and all I don't know if he would want to recruit and work all year around like he did under Saban, I know he told me he got worn out keeping such late hours although he loved helping LSU. He may very well be the best D Line coach ever at LSU.

I love the story I read about the Eagles (I guess) coach describing his coaching search. He said he was talking to his people about a lot of different DL coaches, and they kep telling him, "This guy is great, he was coached by Pete Jenkins, . . .", and "Oh, you'll love this guy; he worked under Pete Jenkins, . . .", etc.; so, finally, he says, "Hey, how about we just go get this Pete Jenkins guy?"
I'd love to see Pete back in Baton Rouge for another spell.

I love Pete Jenkins. He's about as much of an 'LSU man' for someone who isn't from or play at LSU as anyone.
Great guy.
Great guy.

I doubt this rumor is true, if Pete wanted to come back, Miles would snatch him up in a heart beat. Wishful thinking though.

If u dont want Pete Jenkins u obviously dont know anything about LSU football. If they could get Pete to come back as DL coach and recruiting for just a couple of years that would be phenomenol. Unlike Orgeron he can actually coach and improve the DL and speak the English language. Not to mention he is a helluva recruiter as well and a much better man than O. If we can get Pete back it should be done now!!!!!
