I have no idea. But the Cajuns have a better chance of getting Saban as coach than they do of getting into the Big 12.

Whoa.

That’s a pretty huge assumption there.

I mean, there is actual talk of making a hire with experience in the Big 12 because of some kind of idiotic belief that the could help get into that conference?

I read the same thread... to be fair most responded thinking that was idiotic.

Can someone explain to me how hiring a big 12 coordinator has anything to do with our chances and appeal to that conference as a prospective member? Keeping in mind of course the numerous and vast financial steps and facility improvement this program must make and the length of time that will take before we even have have a seat at the table to have that conversation. I'm not making the connection.

What's all this Big 12 talk? Is there some kind of pipe dream about getting into that conference? That's not happening and to hire a coach based on that kind of irrational logic would be silly.

Make the hire that can win the most games. The Big 12 could care less who we hire. It makes zero difference. We can't even get into CUSA much less the Big 12. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the Big 12 talk.

Pry is not extremely impressive imo but I'll buy in if he's the pick. Cumbie seems to have more upside.

I have my doubts.

Some swore just this past weekend that it was Sumlin on the flight.

Every fan base has that for sure.

Aggravating to go on there and read people shitting on the possibility of Brent Pry simply because he was our DC back during some of the Bustle years.

I'd be pretty damn excited at getting the DC from one of the currently best football programs in the country. Hudspeth was the "passing game coordinator" for Mississippi State when we hired him. Pry is the actual Defensive Coordinator at Penn State.

By just comparing that, it would appear the interest in our Head Coach position has upgraded in the past 7 years.

And to be honest, while quite a few over at RP were peeing at the thought of Sumlin being a possibility, I'd prefer Pry or Mike Houston over him. Those two seem like they'd be a bit hungrier.

Convince them they should be targeting the Big Ten.

Interesting how this impacts the new early signing day. ULL just has to punt on the entire thing and hope for the best in Feb.

We have identified one of the delusional ones. Didnt take long.

Kansas is an absolute shite show. And they would beat ULL by 14. There are probably 30 teams the Big 12 would bring in before even considering ULL.

I will never forget. Back when USL beat Texas A&M in Lafayette that one time (weird as hell that they played in Lafayette), if I remember correctly USL played LSU the next season.

I had one of those delusional ULL fans tell me that they were going to beat LSU because last season they beat a Top 12 team (what he meant was to say Big 12 team). aTm was nowhere near the top anything that year, but he didn't know the difference between the top 12 in polls and the Big 12.

USL beat Texas A & M in 1996 and didn't play LSU until 2003. Either your friend is a dumb frick or you are full of shite.

He was wrong about them being #12 when USL beat them. They were #25 when USL beat them. The started the season ranked #13. Typical overranked aTm team, but they were ranked. And USL had a future NFL QB (Jake Delhomme) throwing to a future NFL WR (Brandon Stokely).

Now stop pissin on little brothers glory day.
