I have no problem with this. Anybody that lets a triple option team drop 70 on them, Army nonetheless, with a month to prepare has no control over their team.

He did just lose to Army by 56, I’d bet it’s purely football related

I'm not saying it isn't. Just pointing out that he has a little Bobby Petrino in him and it wouldn't be a shock if he got caught again.

She wasn't fricking around
President should fire herself. Houston is 2-10 academically. Applewhite is a great coach but administration absolutely hated him and showed no support.

He got whipped by teams with a losing record 2 years in a row.

In 2018 he lost to a 2-10 Tulsa 45-17 and in 2018 a 5-7 SMU 45-31 and 5-7 Texas Tech 63-49.

Les Miles would have let him wear the jacket. Would have been a good fit for Houston, and Houston as a program is better off then Kansas right now.,

He put his QB in danger in that Bowl game vs Army. down 50+ points, just run the ball and end the game. No need to get our QB beau up by running no huddle.

Seeing this for the first time and I haven't been to Warchant to see what they're saying yet but if they go after Briles and he reneges on the OC job I'm gonna throw myself into an active volcano

They shouldn't get boatraced by Army.

You do realize Houston and LSU are about the same academically right?

Houston has a much larger endowment as well.

Houston is nowhere close to LSU. They are below Mississippi State.

Reports are that Dana Holgerson is the frontrunner for the job.

Seems weird. That's a step down for Holgerson IMO.

That would be the biggest head scratching move by a head coach ever

The tards on this board love to talk about endowments even though they don’t understand what they are or know that endowment funds have virtually zero impact on college football. I wouldn’t really call a $5,000,000/year difference (assuming that the endowment allows 5% yearly spending) in investment money spread across the entire university system a “much larger endowment” or even significant.

But tell me more about how Houston’s $5,000,000/year endowment difference over LSU’s offsets the fact that their athletic department brings in over $100,000,000 less in revenues each year. Makes perfect sense to someone who knows their arse from their elbow

My post was in response to a shot at Houston’s academic standing. Which is roughly the same as LSU’s. So that’s where my post has relevance.

LSU is a powerhouse financially when it comes to athletics. The $40+ million it receives annually from the SEC alone puts it ahead of almost all G5 programs. If LSU’s academic prowess was as strong as its athletic programs it would be a fricking IVY. But let’s be real, it’s a diploma mill just like every other public university in the state.

Houston was a major program once, but much like Jewlane, their administration deliberately punished athletics when the SWC dissolved. Hell they have as many Heisman winners as LSU.

Houston is a very solid program who decided to recommit to athletics 20 years too late.
