Because his team put up one hell of a fight against the #1 team in the nation and have put up big numbers against the rest. Yea, we got shut out by Bama, but they are the best team, plain and simple. Our offense needs an overhaul and I think he got the most out of his offense regardless of being shut out. He spread the ball around and stuck to his gameplan... Just bama's defense was better than our offense.

Wrong. Its clear though you are a CEO for HC person so i'm not going to discuss anything with you further.

So, we got 129 yards and didn't score. That was the gameplan and the best he could do? I've seen other teams score against them. And, he put up big numbers with that same offense that managed 129 yards against other teams...

Does your inner monologue typically go something like this:
This is the only logical explanation i have for your posts.

The simple fact that he would take considerably less money than any other potential candidate reeks of desperation to me.
The Coach O supporters remind me very much of the diehard Les supporters. Speaking of, anybody hear from Beefense lately?

At this moment this is true. So we much recruit as best as we can and stay in top 3 - 7 space. And out scheme them by attacking their weaknesses effectively. It can be done:).

The thought of Orgeron being the coach of LSU past Nov.26 takes me back to the 1990s.

There are none. O has bare minimum qualifications to be an HC, but because he's cajun, literally parrots everything the fanbase says (pro style offense, pro style QB, we'll throw more, it's our OL fault and we need better ones, penalties, Bama is cheating, penalties), and can recruit, they've fallen head over hills.
My mind should not be able to register how people can be this damn stupid, but then I remember last year when this same fanbase help give Miles another year to f**k another season up.
Bravo sir.

Successful coaches let their coordinators do their job. If one is calling plays it's usually an avg team. Either it got bad and they took over or their focus is too much on one side to be a complete team. Fact of the matter is good coordinators don't mean good coach otherwise every good cord. Would succeed. The HC may be an offensive mind and helps coach up the offense. They may be involved in gameplan on whatever side they are good at. Hell Saban still coaches db's it's not like he was coaching everyone. There is a lot to running a team and one of the key factors is recruiting so O may be just fine having expertise n recruiting and dline. He can let the OC and DC do their job and focus on what he knows best. That's what all coaches do. O may turn out to be a great coach but if he wins out he still shouldn't be named HC over a jimbo or Herman. He needs to prove he can be successful at a mid major. Like Frank Wilson is doing. But Clemson gambled with dabo and he was in a similar situation being an interim and experience wise as well. So if Lsu goes that route it should only be if they miss on big targets and O is the 4th or 5th option with the other 3-4 top guys declining the job. Assuming he wins out I don't think their is many more than 3 or 4 guys that is an obvious better option than O. So go for Herman n fisher n maybe fedora. If they decline then I would think O should have a good shot at a chance with the next group or "b" tier options.

A good HC will have oversight and can add something to one side of the ball with x's and o's, if need be. Not just recruiting and motivating. If something isn't going right on offense, what can Ed Orgeron really say? "Hey, tighten up, T-boy!?"
He knows nothing about offense and there's nothing he can tell an elite DC on how to run a defense.

you bet. if O will, and can, hire a top flight OC this could be a great situation. no matter who we hire tho this board will have huge problems with. there are some that are absolutely convinced a spread offense is the ONLY way to go and there are others on the completely opposite side and think the spread is for weak teams. my opinion is that an offense should most certainly have enough spread elements to win certain games but maintain the pro set as a base offense.
