People need to quit melting about "a woke hire", no one knows anything

Woody's entire legacy rides on this. He is a very smart guy and goes after championship level coaches he believes will get LSU to the pinnacle of the sport once again. He isn't going to hire a guy just to satisfy some minority requirement. He just isn't, that makes absolutely zero sense when you look at his history as an AD.
Could the coach he thinks is best possibly be a minority (Aranda/Franklin)? Possibly, but that isn't why he's going to hire him.
People are just melting like snowflakes for no fricking reason. Sit back and enjoy the hunt.

As long as it's not Mel Tucker. That guy is NOT qualified.

I’m not in the Mel Tucker camp, but he’s very highly thought of and is a great recruiter who has coached under some elite coaches.
If he beats a few big teams to end the season that would be very impressive. I doubt he does and I also doubt he’d get serious consideration if he doesn’t.

Coaching under elite coaches is not enough.
Tucker went 5-7 at Colorado and bailed after 1 year (no loyalty).
He went 2-5 in 2020 (a lot worse than 5-5).
He's currently 7-0 (LSU would be 7-0 against that schedule too). I bet he finishes the season 8-4.
I think we established after this year's coordinator fiasco that LSU is not a training ground. Tucker simply does not have a proven track record yet. He hasn't even coached in a single bowl game yet.
