Crazy Bo is back!

Talk about a change in personalities from Aranda

Cannot get more opposite.

I think elite defenses that stop everyone they play ended a couple years ago with Bama. Offenses seemed to have progressed too much. As soon as Pelini gives up a lot in a a game, we will start to forget that Aranda did the same thing.

Why do fans care so much what assistants get paid? Im generally curious. It means absolutely nothing to fans. Its not like we have a coach salary cap. The athletic dept knows what we can afford.

I expect a melty firestorm the first time an opponent scores 30.

If we paid 1.5 or less people would be saying we went cheap

I get some might not like this hire but it speaks volumes to what direction O wants to take defensively. I believe O supported Aranda but he also wants a more aggressive D. Aranda was more a counter-puncher who made adjustments once he saw what the other team was doing. Pelini is more a slugger who will press the fight. Aranda was a great DC and I believe Pelini will be also. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Are we all gonna pretend that we don’t talk about how much Aggie pays coaches?

It’s a natural thing to discuss when talking about coaches, especially in terms of hiring.

Aranda is Apollo Creed.

Pelini is Rocky Balboa.

Fighting style only, reverse for personalities.

Well we need big time coordinators since O isnt really a DC/OC himself. See Saban, Kirby, Jimbo, Gus, Herman, Norvell etc.

Dabo being the outlier.

I like this deal because if Pelini ends up working out we should get him long term. Like Vennables and Steele.

I agree. Throughout O's career he's generally had interior lineman who were disruptive both in the run and passing game. Under Aranda, the interior DL were HUGE guys who were kind of more space/block eaters. Really, only Shelvin was consistently disruptive this season. I think O wants to get back to having those DT's blow up passing plays up the middle

O and Pelini go back. There won’t be any issues on that front

ya in a totally different era of football. The style of play now is totally different to back then. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts.

the man is still a well respected defensive mind and had interest from NFL teams.

He's only 52...I seriously doubt he has no idea how to stop current offenses
