This is where the AD says we don’t negotiate and hires the interim coach, right?

I don't know why my thread was deleted because it is absolutely relevant. Forde was 100% wrong about McElwain hours before he was fired, yet we're supposed to believe his sources at UF are going to feed him accurate information about the hiring of a coach. He's the guy the feed inaccurate info.

The problem with some of these older guys that used to get solid info from UF is that their sources appeared to have dried up when Foley left town. If he had solid sources he wouldn't post an article rife with uncertainty.

I am sure if Kelly doesn’t sign the contract by Sunday that Stricklin will start to gauge interest from others. Some other coaches who are not coaching conference championship games will be available to interview. I think we have enough back up plans that we should be ok . We need a coach who wants to coach UF not a guy using us to get more money.

Gator contingent that flew to NH should have stayed in a motel and not left without him.

6 ppl flew up to nh on a 6 seat plane, never was in the plan to bring Kelly back with them.

Seems like Florida is scared of Aggy entering the market and want to get something nailed down ASAP.

If kelly goes to ucla, and Florida doesn’t have something else in place they are in trouble.

uf hiring strong would be the equivalent of lsu hiring coach o.

Would it not be a bit awkward to hear a pitch/be interviewed by 6 people? I feel like two would make more sense

I think things could heat up fast in the coaching search Sunday once most of the teams are done playing. Stricklin sounds like he doesn’t want to get in a bidding war . Hopefully Sunday he contacts Kiffin , Smart , Taggart , Mullen and even Campbell to gauge their interest. I would think who ever hires Kelly would do a similar deal to what USF did with Stong .

Ruh roh. The first words out of Joe Alleva's mouth at Coach O's introductory press conference was "LSU was never going to get into a bidding war"

Strong is a much better coach than Orgeron. That doesn't really say much though. Most FBS coaches are better than Orgeron.

You're a much better poster when you don't log in and click reply. I hope you come down with turkey parvo tomorrow and misplace your biting stick in your arse.

I think we would go straight to Strong as plan B.
He'd be no different at UF than at UT. Wouldn't last 3 years at Florida.

Yeah Gators, go ahead and hire him. He can get Sumlin to be OC after he gets fired this Sunday after the LSU game. Keep Shannon as DC.
