So what do we know?
Riley has LSU on hold similar to when Woodward went after O'Sullivan, Corbin and Vitello? And we wait for another 3 - 4 weeks for an announcement?
If Riley wants in then sign the deal, announce it and leave it up to OK and Riley to decide if he coaches after the regular season.

LSU’s season is over in 15 days, but Riley’s current team is undefeated. OU will probably have a conference championship game in 22 days, and possibly a spot in the playoffs that would occupy him well into January.
It sounds like Woodward is willing to wait, but for how long? He knew the Dec. 15th early signing period was problematic when he made the decision to fire O and target Riley.
That’s a big reason he’s paying Coach O to stick around and keep recruiting. It was odd that recruiting was emphasized the day O was fired. However, Woodward knew Riley wouldn’t be hired until the week before signing day.
The bigger problem is the secret is out. That’s going to cause a lot of problems and questions for Riley. There’s a limit on the denials and deflections he’s going have to start issuing. OU has a lot on the line over the next few weeks. Riley might really want the LSU job, but there’s a long way to go.
It’s going to be hard to keep the ruse going and get through the next 4 games, but it makes things a lot easier if OU loses a game soon.

What’s interesting is, in one thread I think yesterday, someone posted that the deal with Riley was going to be 8 years , $100million for 12.5 mil/year. The interesting part about these figures are, some poster early on said it would take between 12-14 million per year to land Riley, per his agent. Those figures fall in that range. Time will tell, I’ll certainly be happy if it ends up Riley.
