I have a personal friend who works for the Packers.

He tells me the packers have officially reached out to Saban’s agent this am.

I’m sure they’ve reached out to a lot of agents.

And how many coaches does that agent represent?

Told my friend in person yesterday that my packers friend said McCarthy would be fired yesterday. And that the packers were interested in Saban (but didn’t reach out yet).

He was right about that. Here’s the best proof I got of that.

You’re right there!

But they specifically have interest in Saban. He did say they have reached out to a couple others but didn’t say who.

This is it. This is the one.

Or Saban will just keep dominating CFB until he dies.

TIFWIW but I have a friend who Saban leans on for advice sometimes and throws ideas off of..... he said nothing to worry about.

Don’t blame you for not believing. I wouldn’t believe me either.

But I do trust my friend.

He said that they feel like it will be an immediate upgrade on defense and in the run game.

I know a person who has a cousin who went to school with the second cousin of a prominent real estate agent that once met a prominent Green Bay area real estate agent at a convention some years ago. Apparently Mrs. Terry has already picked out a house and is in the process of hiring a home decorator. It's happening.

In the OP's defense, if I were an NFL owner looking for a head coach I'd at least reach out to Saban.

It would be stupid not to, but doesn't mean that Saban or his agent will listen.

Yeah I’d bet everyone with an opening has called sabans agent. It would be dumb not to.

The truth is Saban hasn’t left because he knows his success is entirely dependent on having a talent margin so overwhelming over his opponents. Is he a good coach? Absolutely—the greatest college coach of all time. But the NFL is a different monster. Would love for him to be out of the college ranks. It’s not even fun anymore.

Saban isn't leaving to go coach in the NFL at this point in his career. What is he 67? He can sit right there in Tuscaloosa and make buckets of money and continue winning championships until he retires. He's already a legend and probably the best college coach of all time. I doubt he wants to end his career with the possibility of another failed attempt at the NFL.

Green Bay is a sleeping giant with what they have there already. This hire is crucial for them, not sure I would waste time courting Saban, as he'll just get another 50 billion dollar raise out of Bama and call it a day.

They are wasting their time with him and should go get a pro coach, imo.

Even is Saban was interested in going back to the NFL, he is not going to Green Bay - him and rodgers would not get along.
