Orgeron, here's how you should have figured out who to hire.

"Dave, you're one of the best defensive minds in football. Which 3 offensive schemes / coordinators in the country are the hardest for you to scheme against?"

Then simply interview those 3 guys with Aranda in the room.

Nobody wants to risk ruining their coaching career by working under meddling 0

If I’m an OC especially in a P5 conference, I’ll settle with making 6 figures instead of 7 and wait for a better AD/HC to come calling. Coaches around this country know the 0 era won’t last much longer

Right, he didn't interview them with Aranda in the room, but didn't O claim that Canada was recommended by Aranda?

This is ridiculous. Aranda is there.

High achievers arent afraid like yall. They love a challenge and think they are the person to make it work.

You're not even an OC on a little league team, so stop trying to pretend like you know how a real football coach should think. You're nobody, and I'm nobody. You know nothing about what college football OCs are thinking.

Yes, he apparently asked Aranda something along the lines of what’s the hardest offense he’s ever had to scheme against. That’s where my comment comes from..

Im not defending anything.

High achievers dont think like you in your job stuck in a cubicle somewhere or managing a circle K. Theres not a problem finding quality people.

I mean, you’re wrong. I work with numerous millionaires. They love a challenge but you don’t reach the pinnacle by making stupid career decisions.

A challenge is trying to turn around LSU’s offense

An impossible task is trying to do that with 0 meddling in the offense

They want no part of trying to accomplish that challenge with a shrimp boat captain who will stick his gumbo hands in the offense at the first sight of trouble.

This wouldn’t be a challenge it would be a terrible career move. And you’re brain dead if you can’t see that. Take the purple and gold glasses off

High achieving folks understand they are only as good as the people they surround themselves with. It would be terribly unwise to enter a deal when you don’t know if your boss would be around within a year or 2. Not when there are plenty of openings annually for similar pay.

Aranda is here because his defense will be good here and 0 won’t meddle in it. He won’t go down with the sinking ship. He also might be the HCIW.

He almost left for Texas A&M
Twice.

Okay roger, you're an OC that is moving up the chain. You want to come for a guy who nearly got in a fight with his last OC that had only been there for a few months?

Face it, O is an egotistical maniac.

I disagree, I don’t think O is egotistical at all
I think he is drowning in the pressure of this job and his instinct is to grip tighter on the program

This is what ruined Dinardo and it doesn’t end well

Really how do you know this? Did they take pole. Was there a survey sent to all of the coaches nationwide asking how long they thought O would be around?

It's a high paying high profile job, you're damn straight it would be easy. Particularly for a young guy. There's tons of talent at LSU

Again, these people don't look at this like taking a job in middle management.

If LSU doesn't make an outside hire it's because they think Orgeron will be gone soon and they'll wait before bringing someone else on. It's easier to deal with those on staff
