Orgeron business decision, but......

he went about it in a horrible way. In my opinion, we will be better off without him. He is totally classless in the way he did Les. Miles offered this freakin guy the house. He knew how big of a hire this could have been for LSU, and he swallowed his pride and threw the bank at this guy. He tried to accomodate him in every damn way. O was going to make as much or more than Chavis....this tells me how bad LM wanted him. Miles tried to do it privately, and professionally. What did he get in return from this bafoon? A slap in the face to him personally, and to to tiger nation that was pulling for this guy to come aboard.
So, you mean to tell me that you get an offer from you "dream" school for way more than your worth, and you handle it this way? Who the hell is Bobby Hebert to be the little bitch mouth go between. O used him like a HS whore. The first person that should have been told that he was not coming was Les himself. He should have at least given Les that much respect. Hey, take the one that offers u more money, that is his respnsibility to his family, fine...I think most of us would do the same. But damn man, don't tell your college drinking buddy that you are taking the Tenn job right b4 he goes on the pre game show! He know Hebert was going to spout his mouth off! How do you think Miles felt? right b4 gametime? come on O, have some class. But I guess with Sexton what should u expect.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the next few years up here with Big O in town. Should be interesting. Hopefully he will be the cancer that eats away at this coaching staff.

Bobby Hebert handled it more poorly than O. O wasn't the one going public with everything. We have no idea what his conversations with Les were.

you mean to tell me that if O told BH not to say anything, that being his friend he would not have honored that? Why in the hell would he call him right before he went on the air. All he had to do was tell him not to say anything. He was going to LSU in the am, then money changed his mind....do the research

I can't believe he turned down such a great offer from LSU. I think he made a huge mistake & will regret it one day. Blew his last chance to ever coach at LSU IMO. I dont wish him any harm, but he would have been a hero in LA and will now be considered an enemy & traitor by many. Hope all our new coaches are good recruiters because will be harder against O/the Tiffins, Saban, Jimbo, Meyer, Brown/Texas, as well as Oklahoma, Nutt, A&M, Miami, USC, OSU, and even the new coaches at Miss State & Auburn, ex-LSU coaches, etc. We'll be fine. Geaux Tigers!!!
Also, I have an ole miss buddy who said the word up there is that O hates LSU and was either going to stay with the Saints or go to TN. I didn't believe him at first, but now.......I think I do.

LMAO!!! this is HILARIOUS! this WHOLE SITUATION has made the TENN/LSU blogs look like fish out of water...talk about FLIP-FLOPPING! First, we were getting "O". we were rejoicing, talking about the "DREAM STAFF" and recruiting mastery we would have over the college world, and how he was worth the $$. as TENN fans were filling their blogs with negative posts about how they didnt need him, noone should pay a DL coach that much, our staff would implode because of egos, we're stupid for putting up that much $$, etc. NOW he's off to Tenn. and this is crazy...TENN is actually paying him MORE than we were going to pay him and they're LOVING IT even though they just made fun of us and blasted us for paying him 600 G's. They're talking about a "DREAM STAFF" and how they really need him, how hes worth the money, while we are dogging him, saying he's overpaid, saying their staff will impload because of egos. too funny. i just wonder if some people actually read into whats going on before they post in blogs?

I think O felt a little like Saban did when Hizenga sp? would not leave him alone, and would not take "no" for an answer. Just like Nikki, he will soon regret his decision.

I think our fanbase needs to grow up and get over it. O would have been bad for this staff. You can't maintain an assistant that would have been paid as much as he would have been and had his title. Someone would have resented it soon enough. Either him for having the money and not the responsibility, or others would have seen him without the responsibility, but with the money. Sexton needed this more than anyone. It's ups the ante across the board.
O has no real ties to LSU. He ditched LSU once in his life, and he chose not to go to LSU again. Good riddance.
As for coming down on Bobby Hebert, he may have screwed up in terms of trying to break a story, but the guy didn't do anything to the detriment of LSU and wouldn't have done something like this on purpose. I think he was used, but the people on here thinking that he did something to hurt LSU when his son is on the team, well that's just ridiculous!

Let me clarify. O is a great recruiter, proven to be one of the best no doubt. O is a good D-line coach. He brings fire and some attitude we could have used, but, for the reasons that I stated in my previous post, he would have eventually been a problem on this staff. It may have taken a year, but IMO, it's something that would have been inevitable.
Since we've got great recruiting now, D-line coaches are abundant and you can find coaches with firey personalities, I don't think we will miss him the way another team like Tennessee might.
Additionaly, I'm ok with it because we generally do not compete with Tennessee for players. The teams you mentioned do, so him going to Tennessee is still not a bad thing.

And I am glad we didn't end up paying that much for him.
But he would have been a solid hire, and it is just weird to see people react like this over him...ie, all the hatred.
