What's the difference -seriously?

I'll preface by saying Napier is 1000% a different coach than O. Much more consistent and a better coaching record.

But this board and the rant is just like 2016

"He's one of us"
"He's an amazing recruiter"
"Things have changed"

The entire Louisiana media also pushed for O even Culotta who now shits on him and is ironically talking up Napier.

If we had Alleva as AD zero doubt in my mind it's Napier.

It's just almost entirely identical how lousiana fans are rallying around their "chosen one" just like 2016.

Uhh I’m not a big Napier guy but this doesn’t make any sense back to back

Napier has had success as a HC and was an actual coordinator.

Napier grew up in Georgia. Does he have some in roads now in Louisiana recruiting. Yes I’m sure he does. Not many people are saying, oh he from down da bayou. People in the coaching profession, love the guy.(Napier) They laugh at O. For sure one offensive coordinator in the Sec, mentioned he would no doubt leave his gig to coach for Napier. Not saying he will get the job. But, he will be successful somewhere big in the near future..

Just stop.

This is a dumb phrase and I’ve got food in my refrigerator that has been in Louisiana longer than Napier.

He’s not from here.

While this is certainly true, the circumstances could not be more different.

Napier was the youngest OC in the country and was probably promoted too quickly. Dabo was under pressure after a bad year and had to make changes. Happens to a lot of coaches.

I've literally not heard a single person say the first and third of those things.

I think you're projecting.

his reputation in the coaching world is A+

S if we’re using that grading scale

whatever fans think about him matters not

He’s almost universally seen as a stud who is gonna become an elite coach at the right program

You can’t be serious? What head coaching job was Napier fired from. He was fired as an OC at the age of 29. O has never even been a coordinator. One knows offense, while the other can’t even get a decent coordinator to work for him..

How many freaking anti-Napier posts do you intend on posting?

You seem to be on a mission as if you think Woodward reads this site or the people on this site have any sort of say so in the next head coach.

You have started threads and jumped into every thread mentioning Napier to disparage him as though he cut you off in traffic one day.

He’s probably a decent guy.

Relax.

Orgeron 2016 vs Napier 2021

Napier is a much better prospect in 2021 than O in 2016. Also, zero people have said "He's one of us". That's you projecting your PTSD from the Orgeron hire because this guy currently coaches in Louisiana.

I actually think a coach like Orgeron winning the NC here has elevated the LSU job's appeal above where it was in 2016, so I'd personally be a little disappointed if we can't get a more proven coach than Napier. That being said, I don't think I'd be too sad. I trust Woodward to do his due diligence, unlike Alleva.
