He’s a candidate for some NFL OC jobs so I doubt he’ll be in Carolina long anyway

Wonder if Brady gave Peetz the ol’ “letter of recommendation” in lieu of walking papers, trying to pass him off to LSU.

You wouldn’t think so, but you’d also think that Brady would want to keep such a valuable asset.

Some of you are so fricking clueless. Brady recommended Mangus as well. Do you think he doesn't want Dj around?

Peetz was the rpo expert on sabans staff while there.
I think if he is hired it is a high ceiling but high risk higher. He has gotten talk as an nfl oc. Seems in the nfl the qb coach is typically the guy just under the oc.
Bridgewater said good things about his personality. Sounds like he has the personality to be a recruiter.
Would be interesting on what the role is for Mangas. Analyst maybe. The lead offensive analyst taking Calloways spot as he moves to on field assistant

We’d be tapping into that great offensive machine that was 20th in Total O in the NFL after 15 games with 5 Ws.

So yeah, avoid those coaches. They could never succeed at LSU.

Saban has hired him twice. No, not as OC, but he must at least think he adds value.

Who is Saban currently looking at for OC?

lol some of the comments here are delusional. Big time coaches are a small fraternity and they like to help each other and develop a coaching tree. Look at Sabans coaching rehab program.

Maybe Brady understands that he wants to be an NFL head coach and to do that and be successful, he will need to have his guys ready to take on roles when it happens. So it would make sense for him to want his eventual OC to go and get actual experience with the same program he got his shot at. Lot of comfort and trust between the coaches involved and it makes sense for all parties involved.

Exactly. Think about it like an apprenticeship program, which it almost literally is. The Union guys I work with send their apprentices out to other areas of our field so they will learn all aspects of the trade. The hope is that we will keep them after they turn out and that, rather than be pigeon-holed in one role, they will be well-rounded workers.

Coaching is no different in how guys learn on the job, but a football team is different in that there are limited roles to for guys to move into and continue to grow without leaving for another organization. By sending a couple of promising guys our way to get experience at the highest level of college football, Brady has people he likes moving up and learning WITHOUT COMPETING HEAD TO HEAD WITH HIM.

Think about that. If he recommends them for other NFL jobs, he may literally be strengthening his competition. They may find permanent jobs going head to head with him. If they go the college route and succeed, then it’s more likely he could hire them back in a bigger role later on without having to compete with them in the interim. It’s creative way to grow his coaching tree without competitive headaches.

Supposedly McDaniels was going to hire him as oc when he took the colts job.

Norm chow once took peetz under his wing and im not joking.

I don't think he would be a terrible hire in a co oc role

Just a little sarcasm. Because obviously success in college football and the NFL dont always go hand in hand.

Peetz was lined up to be the Offensive Coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts in 2018 before Josh McDaniels withdrew from an agreement to become the Colts Head Coach and decided to remain in New England as offensive coordinator.

Peetz, Mangas, and Calloway. That's a serious youth movement on the offensive side of the ball.

Will Ensminger be on staff as an analyst/consultant? Can he be in the booth during games? Working under Ensminger worked well for Brady. I like the move. Keeps the offense on the cutting edge.
