Once the Texas job opened up we had no chance with Herman

No doubt in my mind after listening to him being interviewed after being named the head coach of Texas. Basically said it was a no brainier to go to Texas. This is Texas after all. Texas, Texas, Texas, blah, blah, blah! Completely lied and denied anything about the LSU job nor did he want to talk about it. Screw him!

yeah you're right, LSU is a little bitch school and program. we shouldn't even try to compete with bad arse texas

We had no clue. I've been wondering why we didn't land him.

You are correct. As a grad assistant, did you see him and his wife with an old picture. Game over for us when Texas came calling.

well considering we had an agreement with him, this is completely false

I can't believe he didn't say he had a deal in place and would rather be at LSU after he was hired at Texas. Quite frankly it is one of the most shocking pieces of news I've ever heard.

Yea I'm sure he was gonna come out and say before coaching a game for Houston "well you know I just got an offer from LSU so thats kind of whats on my mind right now" or after being named HC for Texas "well you know LSU gave me a decent offer that I may have taken had their bitch of an AD not pulled it." He likely would have chosen Texas over us but at least let him choose.

I find it hard to believe that the Herman people did not have the "word" that Texas was going to let Strong go. The net result was that the Herman group were prepared to & did use the info as a wedge for their man. No doubt.

Cool. You must know the winning lottery numbers too.

Not with our Shrimp Dick AD
I personally think for totally logical reason LSU is a better job than Texas.
The AD needs to sell that.

Screw him!
Screw Alleva for considering two candidates, then settling for Orgeron.
Screw him!
The Orgeron folks should be saying the same thing.
Screw Alleva!
Look, it may be that Ed Orgeron was the absolute best option. But once Alleva developed diarrhea-of-the-mouth, he let it be known that Orgeron was a FINAL FALL-BACK option. He essentially said Orgeron needn't be the best, or even good. Orgeron simply needed to be the sole man to say "yes" to the offer.
Instead Alleva let out not just offers, but numbers behind the proposals for Fisher and Herman. His offers indicate he valued Orgeron as about 1/2 of Fischer and 3/5ths of Herman. Alleva's offer to Orgeron indicated Orgeron was last choice. Alleva needed to open up the process to a litany of suitors in order to legitimize Orgeron as a CHOICE, not a SETTLE.
Because Alleva is incompetent, because Alleva is basically a shoe salesman drawing an AD salary, because Alleva is basically a dolt, he inadvertently undercut Orgeron's tenure before it even began. Because Alleva was too clueless to say he chose Ed Orgeron OVER some other candidate, he screwed CEO.
