Wow if true . No way he has proven to be worth over 10 mil a year

1) he has over 20 years of sustained success as a defensive coordinator and recruiter (he’s coached in 8 national championship games)

2) the market has reset and all coaches at top tier schools will sign mega contracts

So LSU is new money with championships, but USC, ND are blue bloods without championships, got it.

Other schools are overpaying but at least it is for coaches who have been HCs and have had success running a program …. 10 mil for someone who hasn’t proven he can be “ the man” is crazy. He could have been had a lot cheaper IMO but whatever. Congrats

If you offering BV that kind of money, is DABO going to get 15-20 million ?

Not sure if LSU is a Blue Blood but if we're not, we're probably pretty close to being in that argument. Was irrelevant for 30 years or so but the past 20+ we have been.

ND is still a blue blood I'd think. They've been successful under Kelly but not championships obviously. Bama skews that due to their dynasty. They only had a small stint of sucking and Kelly stabilized them again. USC though, you could argue is not a BB anymore. They have not been the least relevant since Pete left. That's probably why they went all in on Riley.

It could help them prove their assumption, or shoot it down.

Ohio State hired Ryan Day... the hire itself will prove nothing about Oklahoma's status as a blood

It is only a loose term amongst non-blue blood fanbases, such as LSU.

It's pretty well defined if you use the Google machine

Good so there is no need to debate this .. just give us the exact standards and it’s all settled

OU is blue blood for sure.

Also, the term “blue blood” is pretty damn outdated considering it includes places like Texas, Tennessee and Nebraska.

This stuff doesn’t mean a damn thing to 17 year olds today.

Oklahoma was dominating in the 70's and 80's while LSU was "hoping" to beat Tulane
